This thread is somewhat experimental. I have been enjoying a thread at another site I've frequented and noticed it was very popular with its members. The thread is called At The Moment. Although I don't want to use all of the parts of that thread, I thought it would be nice to share our days with each other, get to know a little about the folks that frequent G-POP.net. Doing Right Now: Paying bills and working on some projects while sipping a soothing cup of hot chocolate.

Wanting: A contract - I've been working three years without one and it would be nice if my salary matched the rising cost of living.

Thankful For: Having a job in the first place. I'm also thankful for all the folks that visit this site and give us the support we need to continue.

Excited About: Getting halfway through to the completion of one of my projects. I've been working on these scrapbooks for my cats that I found at Barnes & Noble. Almost done - just have to add pictures and a few more comments.

Missing: My first furry "son".

Chatting With: Myself - the house is empty and my cat isn't feeling talkative tonight.

Biggest Purchase of the Day: A gift wrap organizer for my growing pile of shipping supplies.

High Point of the Day: There was a high point? I suppose it would be the birthday party we threw for a co-worker today. That was fun.

Most Aggravating Moment of the Day: Back-talk from a newbie.

Most Laughable Moment of the Day: The merciless teasing of the birthday girl. ;D

Saddest Moment of the Day: Did I mention I was paying my bills?

Missing: Actually just the other day i came across my blazer from High School and i realised i kinda miss school.

Biggest Purchase of the Day: Petrol (Gas for you 'mericans)
High Point of the Day: Catapulting myself out of the "Frying Pan" at work. Was in hot waters there for a while.
Most Aggravating Moment of the Day: Having my job at the company threatend by my probably-passed-out-drunk-by-now Boss, because of some mess that happened WHILE i was away in Mexico.
Most Laughable Moment of the Day: Me asking, the then unknown to me, Managing Director of Dow Chemicals South Africa, to help me carry a monitor to an office. My Co-workers had a pretty good laugh at that.
Saddest Moment of the Day: Listening to my Boss threaten me and smelling the whiskey on his breath.

Doing Right Now: Typing this and working on some projects.

Wanting: Wouldn't it be nice to have just a little more money in my wallet? Not much...just a little more than the lint in there now.

Thankful For: The quiet day we had today at work. It may be a bit boring, but my knee can't really handle exciting right now.

Excited About: The cat books that I have been working on are almost done and they are so cute! Kinda like baby books for your furry children.

Missing: My little buddy.

Chatting With: My bro on and off.

Biggest Purchase of the Day: A Snickers bar.

High Point of the Day: The boss understood that I wasn't trying to duck work yesterday.

Most Aggravating Moment of the Day: I can't think of one at the moment, which is a very good thing. ;D

Most Laughable Moment of the Day: A conversation we had about some possible new hires.

Saddest Moment of the Day: A discussion I had with my brother-in-law which reminded us how damn old we are getting.

High Point of the Day:So far, the fact that my final was optional today and that I don't need it because my professor told me that I already got an A+ in the class. YAY ME!!!

Me training the new receptionist...S (plural)
Most Laughable Moment of the Day:
My boss calling me to tell me that the receptionist they had hired to replace me two weeks ago would not be coming in today--she called me at 10...the girl comes in at 8:30...by that point I had figured it out all by myself!!

Saddest Moment of the Day:
Finding out that they fired the new receptionist...and that I will have to be training anyone else that sits in that seat!

Most Laughable Moment of the Day: My Boss's face after our, "Yes you did" "No i didn't" 2 minute argument. Where, after he asked why i didn't i answered him and he replied, "Oh i see your point"
Saddest Moment of the Day: Reading news about a teen who video tapes her suicide.

Had a virtual TV marathon last night. Watched the great season finale of Grey's Anatomy, then watched The Ultimate Fighter.

Doing Right Now: Drinking some yummy hot chocolate while listening to House (my bro is watching it in the other room.

Wanting: This headache to go away.

Thankful For: All that I have in my life. And the comfort drink called hot chocolate.

Excited About: Sunday and the prospects of mega overtime in the near future.

Missing: A time when I didn't flinch every time I got up from a seated position.

Biggest Purchase of the Day: Shipping costs to send a certain friend of mine a few b-day CDs - 'twas the only purchase I made today.

Most Aggravating Moment of the Day: Driving to work - lots of morons on the road today.

Most Laughable Moment of the Day: A phone conversation with a special someone - made me laugh a bit, even with the pounding headache.

Saddest Moment of the Day: Finding out that a co-worker with a similar knee issue went to the doctor and will now be out of work for at least 3 weeks.

The season finale of Law & Order SVU---very powerful...and I loved the dig at Tom Cruise for discouraging psychiatric drugs...that wasn't obvious.

Doing Right Now: Besides this, creating labels for my own personal work filing system at my new desk. YAY ME!

Wanting: My new bosses to love me...I know one does, but I'm waiting on confirmation from the other
Thankful For: A great critique on my fiction piece and having gotten a great creative writing professor...oh, and also what looks to be my potentially awesome GPA...and all the people I love. I guess I should just say ALOT
Excited About: My meeting today with the CUNY Baccalaureate Program. If I get in, I will be able to create my own custom made major for the future I want.

Missing: My sister!!!! Boy, I haven't spoken to her in a while *cough*

Chatting With: My co-worker Debbie about her brutal cough. Most of it was sympathetic...the other part was me begging her not to give it to me.
Biggest Purchase of the Day: It's kind of early...I haven't purchased a thing yet.
High Point of the Day: CUNY Baccalaureate meeting!!!!

Most Aggravating Moment of the Day: So far, start and stop walking on the stairs in the train station.

Most Laughable Moment of the Day: One of the Partner's at my firm got a new desk...it would be nice if the drawers would open!!!

Saddest Moment of the Day: Working for a half an hour on the 12 page paper that is due on Saturday...and getting only half a page done. Oh yeah, I'm gonna hand this in on time and still sleep...I'm sure.

After the Awesome Season Finale of Bones and the awesome episode of Lost, I watched another episode of American Gothic from the DVD boxed set I plan to review...eventually...

Doing Right Now: Waiting for work. One of the people I work for is working out of Stamford, the other is slow on work today, and my boss is here...so I must be berry berry sneaky!

Wanting: To feel better...

Thankful For: the 90 I got on my Psych test that pushed me from a B to an A-. YAY ME!!! Not bad for someone who words her questions like, "In that discussion we had last week, what was the person's mental problem?" HUH?

Excited About: The CUNY Baccalaureate Program. I went to the meeting yesterday and I'm totally going to join. I have some stuff I need to complete, like an application and gathering recommendations from Professors and transcripts, but then, instead of Double Majoring, I can create my own degree--I'm going to do "Creative Writing and Publishing". And I can take my classes at any city college in this city...but I'm pretty sure I'll probably stay in either my home school, Hunter, Baruch or Lehman. I'm SO EXCITED!!!!

Missing: Time to breathe...I remember that...it was nice.

Chatting With: My co-worker Elisha.

Biggest Purchase of the Day: Nothing yet...although I'm about to go get lunch.

High Point of the Day: Being told that I am secretly known by the moniker "Wonder Woman" by all the people in the other firm offices because of the heavy work I did in reception.

Most Aggravating Moment of the Day: Being told by a fellow secretary that a fee calculation that took me, another secretary and an attorney to complete was "simple math"...I'll give you simple math. My foot + your head=fun for me and pain for you!!!! Okay, I feel better now.

Most Laughable Moment of the Day: My bosses putting up a bulletin on the firm's intranet about my promotion...a week and a half after I started.

Saddest Moment of the Day: I've only finished four pages of the 12 page paper I have due on Saturday. What does that tell you?
