LAKESHORE RECORDS RELEASES THE SOUNDTRACK FOR CITY OF MEN (January 10, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) - Lakeshore Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack for CITY OF MEN. The album features original music by Golden Globe-nominated composer Antonio Pinto (CENTRAL STATION, LOVE AND DEATH IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA). Brazilian composer Antonio Pinto was named "Discovery of the Year" at the 2003 World Soundtrack Awards/Flanders International Film Festival and was nominated for a Golden Globe award for the song "Despedida", which he co-wrote with Shakira. He made his domestic debut in Brazil in 1994, but first attracted international attention for his work on CENTRAL STATION in 1998. Four years later he composed the music for CITY OF GOD and was selected by Michael Mann to write the end credit for COLLATERAL. Pinto's credits also include LORD OF WAR and LOVE AND DEATH IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA. The 2002 film CITY OF GOD introduced the world to the horrors of the slums of Rio de Janeiro and followed the lives of several kids who grew up in the slums through the 60s, 70s and 80s. Utilizing the same setting and same actors, but set in the present day, CITY OF MEN became a television mini-series running from 2002-2005. The TV series transitions to the big screen with the new film CITY OF MEN. In CITY OF MEN, producer Fernando Meirelles (The Constant Gardner) returns to the Brazilian favelas of his Academy Award-nominated film, CITY OF GOD. Growing up in a culture dictated by violence and run by street gangs, teenagers Acerola (Douglas Silva) and Laranjinha (Darlan Cunha) have become close as brothers. With their eighteenth birthdays fast approaching, Laranjinha sets out to find the father he never met, while Acerola struggles to raise his own young son. But when they suddenly find themselves on opposite sides of a gang war, the lifelong friends are forced to confront a shocking secret from their shared past. Directed by Paulo Morelli, Miramax presents CITY OF MEN, in select theaters on January 18. The Lakeshore Records recording will be available on iTunes on January 1, 2008 and in stores on January 8.

The soundtrack features songs by bands including Blondie, X, Dinosaur Jr., Alice Cooper, and Gilbert O’Sullivan. Director Noah Baumbach’s follow-up to his Academy Award®-nominated THE SQUID AND THE WHALE is a daringly funny and bracingly honest exploration of the tender, absurd and sometimes excruciating relationship between siblings – and the fallout for those in their wake: children, husbands and lovers. She and her son Claude (newcomer Zane Pais) set off on a surprise journey to the wedding of her estranged, free-spirited sister Pauline (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and her unemployed artist-fiancé Malcolm (Jack Black). BE KIND REWIND SOUNDTRACK (January 9, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) - Lakeshore Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack for BE KIND REWIND. The album features classic Fats Waller cuts performed by the film's star Mos Def, writer/director Michel Gondry and composer Jean-Michel Bernard, plus classic tracks by Booker T and the MGs, Fats Waller, Billy Preston, original music by Bernard, and a performance by Jack Black. The soundtrack will be available on iTunes and in stores on January 22, 2008. Jerry (Jack Black) is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant that he believes is melting his brain. But when his plan goes awry, the magnetic field that he creates accidentally erases all of the videotapes in a local video store where his best friend Mike (Mos Def) works. Fearing that the mishap will cost Mike his job, the two friends team up to keep the store's only loyal customer (Mia Farrow) - a little old lady with a tenuous grasp on reality - from realizing what has happened by recreating and re-filming every movie that she decides to rent. From "Ghostbusters," to "Robocop," to "Rush Hour," to "The Lion King," Jerry and Mike become the biggest stars in their neighborhood by starring in the biggest movies ever made. French composer Jean-Michel Bernard was trained as a classical pianist, performing with the London Philharmonic and in jazz clubs in Paris and Bordeaux. After a stint as the musical director and conductor for a popular French political radio show he began composing for film, television and commercials. He collaborated with Claude Bolling, Lalo Schifrin and Ennio Morricone. From 1999 to 2003 he worked with Ray Charles on several International and European tours. He first worked with Michel Gondry on the film HUMAN NATURE, composing two songs, and in 2006 composed the score for Gondry's film THE SCIENCE OF SLEEP, which earned him the Best Score Award at Cannes. According to Mr. Fletcher (Danny Glover), the owner of the store and Mike's boss, the video store was once home to jazz legend Fats Waller. Mr. Fletcher is a huge fan of Waller and leaves Mike in charge of the store while he makes his pilgrimage to the birthplace of Waller. Because Waller plays a major part in the storyline, his songs are featured prominently on the soundtrack. Mos Def performs several tracks, including "Your Feets Too Big", "Ain't Misbehavin'" and "I Ain't Got Nobody". Even director Michel Gondry got into the act, performing on several cuts with Booker T. Jones, Steve Cropper, and Donald "Duck" Dunn. In conjunction with the film's premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, Mos Def, Gondry and Jean-Michel Bernard will perform the songs of Fats Waller on January 20, 2008. New Line Cinema presents BE KIND REWIND, in theaters on February 22. The Lakeshore Records recording will be available on iTunes and in stores on January 22, 2008.

Peculiar things start to happen the moment the Grace family (Jared, his twin brother Simon, sister Mallory and their mom) leave New York and move into the secluded old house owned by their great, great uncle Arthur Spiderwick. Unable to explain the strange disappearances and accidents that seem to be happening on a daily basis, the family blames Jared. IN BRUGES (January 31, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) Lakeshore Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack for IN BRUGES on iTunes February 5th and in stores on February 12th. The album features original music by Carter Burwell (NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, GODS AND MONSTERS). IN BRUGES was the film that opened the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Composer Carter Burwell began composing for film in the mid-1980s for the Coen Brothers first feature film, BLOOD SIMPLE. Burwells credits also include BEING JOHN MALKOVICH, BEFORE NIGHT FALLS, VELVET GOLDMINE, THE SPANISH PRISONER, and THREE KINGS. IN BRUGES was filmed on location; Bruges (pronounced "broozh"), the most well-preserved medieval city in the whole of Belgium, is a welcoming destination for travelers from all over the world. But for hit men Ray (Colin Farrell) and Ken (Brendan Gleeson), it could be their final destination; a difficult job has resulted in the pair being ordered right before Christmas by their London boss Harry (two-time Academy Award nominee Ralph Fiennes) to go and cool their heels in the storybook Flemish city for a couple of weeks. But the longer they stay waiting for Harry's call, the more surreal their experience becomes, as they find themselves in weird encounters with locals, tourists, violent medieval art, a dwarf American actor (Jordan Prentice) shooting a European art film, Dutch prostitutes, and a potential romance for Ray in the form of Chloë (Clémence Poésy), who may have some dark secrets of her own. And when the call from Harry does finally come, Ken and Ray's vacation becomes a life-and-death struggle of darkly comic proportions and surprisingly emotional consequences. Focus Features presents IN BRUGES, in theaters on February 8. The Lakeshore Records recording will be available on iTunes on February 5, 2008 and in stores on February 12, 2008.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE NEW FRONTIER (March 11, 2008- Burbank, CA) La-La Land Records will release the soundtrack for JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE NEW FRONTIER on March 18. The animated feature will be released on Blu-Ray, Hi Def DVD, and on Demand on February 26 and on HD DVD on March 18th. Kevin Manthei (Batman: Gotham Knight, Xiaolin Showdown, Invader Zim) composed the original music. Kevin Manthei has been working in the film, television and game arena for over 15 years. He has worked as the series composer on five animated TV shows representing over 130 half hour episodes, composed over 50 game soundtracks, has made a mark composing music for animated features, independent films, as well as contributing additional music on many well-known feature films. Manthei began his game writing career working on some of the biggest titles of the time: Panzer General 2, Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption, Sacrifice, Twisted Metal:Black and other classic games. Jhonen Vasquez, the creator of Nickelodeons cult hit Invader Zim, was a huge fan of games and game music, hiring Manthei to score what was to become 26 television episodes of Invader Zim. This garnered Manthei his first Annie Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music for an animated series. Invader Zim also led to Xiaolin Showdown for Warner Brothers Animation as well as Brandy and Mr. Whiskers for Disney. He continued to score both of these shows along with Warner Brothers' Johnny Test, for which he wrote the emo punk inspired main title and score to the first season. While continuing his work on games and film, working on such game titles as Ultimate Spiderman, City of Villains, The Sims 2, Starcraft: Ghost, Shrek 2, and recently Marvel Universe Online & Kung Fu Panda, Manthei has also been active working on several film scores including Batman: Gotham Knight and The 24th Day starring James Marsden and Scott Speedman. Batman: Gotham Knight, which Manthei co-composed, is an anime inspired straight-to-DVD release whose storyline bridges the gap between the live action films Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Based on the graphic novel by Darwyn Cook and produced by Michael Goguen and executive produced by animation legend, Bruce Timm, JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE NEW FRONTIER is the epic tale of the founding of the Justice League. DC Comics legends Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are all featured in the film as are Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and The Flash as they band together to form the legendary super team. Strangers at first, these very different heroes must overcome fear and suspicion to forge an alliance against a monster so formidable, even the mighty Superman cannot stop it alone. If they fail the entire planet will be cleansed of humanity. The setting of the film allowed Manthei to draw on inspirations from the past. I felt very fortunate, because of the fresh take Darwyn Cooke took in his graphic novel, Manthei described. The setting, in the late 50s and early 60s, set up a nice backdrop and tone for the score. Gone was the current standard of a hybrid score consisting of electronics and orchestra. Rather, a new approach was suggested, which was to compliment the time period with a score that was rooted in that time. He was inspired by the works of Bernard Herrmann and Aaron Copeland, along with elements of film noir. The biggest challenge of the score, said Manthei, was keeping a cohesive feel while still addressing all the different characters and thematic elements. I chose to write major themes for the Centre, Flash, Hal, Green Lantern & Jonn Jonzz while letting the other super hero characters be supported by scene specific underscore. Michael Goguen described, The surprising touch of a soft, soulful, film noir-ish saxophone as Jonn Jonnz, the Martian Manhunter, first stands up into the light to reveal himself to the audience in the films first act; the thrilling, propulsive strings and soaring horns of the Flashs first action sequence as he runs to and around Las Vegas; the dream-come-true excitement of the secret Mars space flight, followed by the draining suspense of the tragic crisis-in-space sequence; and the wonderful moment when a choir of angels welcomes Superman as he arrives to save Hal Jordan from certain death; these are all inspired moments of pure musical bliss for me, those things that can only come from a place of true depth of feeling and sensitivity. This score is full of such things, and I invite you to listen for them and savor them. Warner Bros. Video presents JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE NEW FRONTIER, out on Blu-Ray, Hi Def DVD, and On Demand on February 26, 2008 and on HD DVD on March 18th. The JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE NEW FRONTIER Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be available in stores or from www.lalalandrecords.com on March 18, 2008.

THE FILM MUSIC OF PHILLIP LAMBRO (March 18, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) Perseverance Records is pleased to announce the release of The Film Music of Phillip Lambro. The CD will be available at www.perseverancerecords.com on March 18th. The regular street date will be June 17th. The collection features music from four films: Mineral King, Celebration, Father Pat and Git! Phillip Lambro was raised in Wellesley, MA. He began studying classical music in the Boston area, making his debut performing Chopin at Symphony Hall at seventeen. He continued his studies in California at the Music Academy of the West. Subsequently, Lambro became one of the youngest composers to be programmed by the Philadelphia Orchestra, who performed his Dance Barbaro (for percussion) and Miraflores (for string orchestra). 1964s Git! was the first feature film composed by Phillip Lambro. Though the score was much better than the film, Git! has subsequently been listed in the 100 Worst Feature Films of all time. The film was a contemporary Western about a runaway boy, a renegade hound, and the daughter of a widowed dog breeder. Mineral King earned Lambro a National Board of Review award for best music for a documentary film. The Walt Disney Company, together with the U.S. Forest Service, was attempting to open a ski resort in Californias Mineral King Valley. The 30-minute film, narrated by Burgess Meredith, examined the environmental impact if this was permitted. Another documentary, Father Pat, told the story of Father Patrick Peyton (1909-1992), the founder of the Family Rosary Crusade, who coined the slogan the family that prays together, stays together. Lambro was able to record with a 60-piece orchestra to perform the score, which incorporates an original Irish sounding theme to reflect Father Pats background. The fourth score featured on this recording is Celebration a look at the various forms of celebrations enjoyed in the USA. Narrated by Ben Gazzara, the film was a propaganda piece intended to be shown overseas. Because of the various cultures featured in Celebration, Lambro was able to expand into a variety of musical styles to reflect the different types of celebrations in this country. The Film Music of Phillip Lambro will be released exclusively at www.perseverancerecords.com on March 18th, 2008 and in-stores on June 17th. SHUTTER (March 18, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) Lakeshore Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack for SHUTTER via iTunes March 25th. The album contains original music by Nathan Barr (HOSTEL, THE DUKES OF HAZZARD). Nathan Barr began studying music in Tokyo, Japan at the age of four. He grew up surrounded by eclectic music ranging from Kabuki Theater, to the sounds of his mother performing on the koto and piano, to his father playing the banjo, guitar, and shakuhachi. His interest in music was further influenced by extensive travels around the world, where he experienced music ranging from Bali's Kecak Orchestras to China's Beijing Opera. During the summer of 1993, he toured Italy and Switzerland with the Juilliard Cello Ensemble. Upon graduating from college, he joined the industrial alternative rock group V.A.S.T. (Elektra Records) for a short time, playing guitar and electric cello. Looking to explore a career in film music, he moved to Los Angeles in 1996, and worked as Academy Award-winning film composer Hans Zimmers assistant. In 1998 Nathan landed his first feature HAIRSTRUCK and has been working constantly ever since on such films as HOSTEL and HOSTEL: PART II, THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, and BEERFEST. His upcoming projects include TORTURED and THE SLAMMIN SALMON. From the executive producers of THE GRUDGE and THE RING comes SHUTTER, a remake of the Thai chiller. A newly married couple discovers disturbing, ghostly images in photographs they develop after a tragic accident. Fearing the manifestations may be connected, they investigate and learn that some mysteries are better left unsolved. 20th Century Fox presents SHUTTER in theaters on March 21, 2008. The Lakeshore Records recording will be available on iTunes on March 25, 2008.

THE STRANGERS (May 20, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack for THE STRANGERS on May 20th via iTunes and in stores on May 27th. The soundtrack contains original music composed by tomandandy. Andy Milburn and Thomas Hadju are tomandandy. The duo met at Princeton University, where they began writing music together. They would write short pieces which they dubbed ‘blasts’ comprised of bits of disjunct sounds. Though they did not translate when performed in concert halls, these blasts were perfect when combined with images on TV. Soon tomandandy moved to NY and began writing for TV and film. Their first feature film soundtrack was 1994’s KILLING ZOE for writer/director Roger Avary. Their film credits include THE HILLS HAVE EYES, THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES, THE RULES OF ATTRACTION and ARLINGTON ROAD. Lock the doors. Assume you're safe. The horrifying events that took place in the Hoyt family's vacation home at 1801 Clark Road on February 11, 2005, are still not entirely known. Champagne. Rose petals. Candlelight. It was supposed to be a night of celebration for Kristen McKay (Liv Tyler) and James Hoyt (Scott Speedman). But after leaving a friend's wedding reception and returning to the house, everything had collapsed for the happy couple. Then came a 4 a.m. knock on the door and a haunting voice. Is Tamara here? Writer/director Bryan Bertino explores our most universal fears in The Strangers, a terrifying suspense thriller about a couple whose remote getaway becomes a place of terror when masked strangers invade. The confrontation forces Kristen and James to go far beyond what they thought themselves capable of if they hope to survive. Rogue Pictures presents THE STRANGERS, in theaters on May 30, 2008. THE STRANGERS original soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available on iTunes on May 20th and in stores on May 27, 2008.
