Is anyone out there watching Jericho?! I just love this show. Not only is it an awesome show to watch entertainment-wise, but there are little hidden features to the show that make it a thinking man's show like Lost.
I've been noticing that the folks on this show use a great deal of subtle gestures and suggestions to power this show. If you are extremely observant, you find a great deal of answers - some that are explained later in that particular episode; some that get explained a couple of episodes later. I love that! Of course, that means you have to pay complete attention to everything said and done by each character. And that means becoming wholly absorbed in each episode.
Besides the subtle gestures and references, there is yet another hidden feature to this show: morse code clues. I had always wondered whether the morse code in the beginning of the show meant anything. I had learned morse code as a kid when I was enamored with my Dad's HAM radio and was pursuing a HAM radio license. I was sure that the morse code was more than random dots and dashes. Turns out, I was correct. If you translate the morse code, you will find three words that will give you a clue about the episode that is about to air. Neat idea!
Finally, a show that I actually look forward to viewing every week! ;D

Jericho was simply awesome this week. But I have a fear that the writers are blowing their load with this war storyline. Where can you go after war? They've survived this and that and now they have a huge battle on their hands. Even if they have ideas afterwards, it scares me that none will match the intensity of this current storyline. Unless it turns out to be a war drama, which it could be, seeing how it could be a total civil war with battles left and right, but can the show sustain that story. I just don't want the show to fall apart where every week Jake must go out and get a part needed to build whatever that will keep the town alive. You know? Jericho could go in several directions...Alias style, which they have hinted toward...war drama, which it is currently on track for, medical drama, which we have seen and even law, since new laws will need to be created, but what can top a war?

They cancelled my show! Those bastards!!!!! This is from the Jericho MySpace Group Page: Below is a statement from CBS Entertainment:
To the fans of Jericho:
We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the Network, the production company and the incredibly-talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show -- both on-air and online. It is a show we loved too.
Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story.
Sincerely,
Nina Tassler, President of CBS EntertainmentThe folks at the group page are forming a campaign to send nuts in honor of the granfather's story on the finale to CBS execs. Jericho Group Page Nuts Info

They didn't cancel Jericho. After thousands of nuts were sent to both the New York and California offices, they decided to bring the show back. Mid season. It will return. YES!!! That made me so happy. of course, I hate having too many television shows to watch, but whatever. At least the good ones that matter will stick around. YEA!!!

Sorry I forgot to update this thread. It was announced that Jericho will be back:
From IMDB.com:
"TV drama Jericho may have a future after all - the CBS network is reportedly reviewing its decision to scrap the show after a sustained internet campaign. Appalled by the decision to scrap the cult series last month, which follows the fortunes of a community trying to survive after a nuclear attack, superfan Jeff Knoll linked up with online company NutsOnline.com to let TV bosses know just what he thought of them. Other fans caught wind of Knoll's idea, and so far nearly 20,000 pounds (of nuts have been sent to various network executives in New York and Los Angeles. Talks with cast members are now reportedly under way, with a view to making seven more episodes. In a statement, Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment, said the network had been "humbled" and was hoping "to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story."
Also, from the network president:
"To the Fans of Jericho:
Wow!
Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.
As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of Jericho for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more Jericho, we will need more viewers.
A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.
We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.
At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that Jericho will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting Jericho on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.
On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of Jericho in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference.
Sincerely,
Nina Tassler President, CBS Entertainment
P.S. Please stop sending us nuts"
LONG LIVE JERICHO!!!!
Congratulations to all that worked on getting our show back. This is only the second campaign that I joined to save a show that got the results we wanted! Most end in diappointemnt. Happily this time, we won! YAY!!

CBS has announced that this week’s episode is to be the series finale of Jericho, a television show brought back to the airwaves by a loyal fanbase that campaigned aggressively to save their show.
CBS set this show up to fail. It’s the ultimate slap in the face to all of Jericho’s fans! The fact that this season’s opener was one of the most downloaded at iTunes and that it was the most viewed at CBS’ own website whould count for something. They changed the time slot and day the show was on, put it in as a little advertised mid-season replacement and expected higher ratings than the ones they got. From what I saw, the ratings weren’t half bad.
Jericho was a fairly original show with plenty of action and intrigue...a thinking man’s show. But from what I can see, the powers that be would be happier if television was filled with nothing but reality television. It’s all part of dumbing down the viewing audience. Sooner or later, we’ll be living in the land of Fahrenheit 451 (read the book by Ray Bradbury), where the shows are designed to create ADD. The less attention you pay to things, the quicker you are to accept the crap being handed to you.
It grows clearer with the cancelling of every show that displays some originality, that requires some actual thought by viewers and isn’t some sort of spin-off of CSI or Law and Order that the powers that be in TV Land don’t care what the viewers think. They care about dollars and cents and whatever can get those into their pockets in the largest quantities in the shortest amounts of time possible.
Sooner or later, all television will revolve around reality programs and game shows.

Funny...though Jericho is likely gone for good I received an email today from the Jericho Forumn and they are sending out one last salvo of artillery in the form of letters and another commercial. Though I think the war is long over the "Rangers" fought and won an epic battle for the shows return and did receive a great season 2. We/They made history with the original campaign and should be proud. Anyone wanting to give it one last try I will provide the link below! boards.cbs.com:80/n/pfx/forum.aspx?msg=28853.1&nav=messages&webtag=CBSMBJericho
