ENEMY FRONT ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK New York (June 10, 2014) - Sumthing Else Music Works, the award-winning record label dedicated to licensing and distributing video game soundtracks, proudly presents ENEMY FRONT Original Soundtrack featuring the musical score from CI Games' new first-person shooter action game set during World War II. Composed by Cris Velasco (Company of Heroes 2, Mass Effect 3, God of War series), the ENEMY FRONT Original Soundtrack is available today from Sumthing.com, iTunes, Amazon.com and other digital music sites. Developed and published by CI Games and distributed by BANDAI NAMCO Games America, Inc., ENEMY FRONT is the first truly modern WW2 FPS, featuring stunning visuals and a richly interactive combat sandbox gameplay experience. Set against the visceral backdrop of breathtaking European locales, players take on the role of American war correspondent Robert Hawkins, as he fights hand in hand with Resistance Fighters opposing the Nazi juggernaut in France, Germany, Norway, and during the Warsaw Uprising.
"At its core, ENEMY FRONT is a story of redemption and survival," said Cris Velasco. "This gave me an opportunity to write the score as more of an emotional journey, rather than a typical combat score. The Warsaw Uprising is something that hasn't been addressed in games like this before so I felt a responsibility to do it justice. I was honored to be asked to provide the music and I truly hope everyone enjoys the music as much as I enjoyed writing it."
ENEMY FRONT will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on June 10 in North America and June 13 in Europe. For more information visit www.enemyfront.com. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Soundtrack will be available digitally on iTunes, Amazon.com, Sumthing.com and all major music streaming sites on September 30, followed by a 2-disc CD album on October 14.
The album features a pulsating electronic synthesizer sci-fi score by celebrated series composer Jesper Kyd (Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep) on CD1, followed by a diverse mix of ambient soundscapes and synth-tastic combat music by 2K Australia in-house sound designers Des Shore and Justin Mullins on CD2. Describing his music for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Soundtrack on CD1, Jesper Kyd said, "There are no traces of real instruments, everything is made with analog synths, drum machines and old gaming consoles. The music is my take on 1980s sci-fi music and electronic music and there's everything from Commodore 64 and Sega Megadrive instruments to massive analog synths and vintage drum machines. It's basically a headtrip through 1980s film-inspired electronic synth scores with my own twist on that genre."

ASSASSIN"S CREED® UNITY
Los Angeles, CA (November 4, 2014) - Rising star composer Sarah Schachner (Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, Far Cry 3, Lazarus) returns to Ubisoft's flagship series Assassin's Creed to score the combat, co-op and multiplayer music for this year's most anticipated next-gen blockbuster title, Assassin's Creed® Unity, a new epic adventure set within Paris during the French Revolution. The soundtrack is now available digitally through Ubisoft Music and will also be released on limited edition vinyl. 4 full-length tracks are available to preview on Soundcloud.
Schachner combines her dynamic talents as an accomplished multi-instrumentalist (violin, cello, guitar, mandolin, voice) and modular synth artist/programmer to create a unique classical soundscape infused with analog pulses. "The French revolution was an interesting time musically because it was at the beginning of the classical period but there was still some crossover from the baroque era," explains Schachner. "The missions at Versailles, for instance, reflect more of the overly flourished baroque sound that the aristocracy was reluctant to let go of."
Sarah Schachner's action-driven score for Assassin's Creed® Unity immerses players in the time period during which the action takes place but also reflects the game's overarching modern sci-fi element. "The combat music in Unity needed to strike a balance between the methodical and calculated chamber sound of the era while also encompassing the passion and struggle that was at the center of the revolution," continues Schachner. "As always with the franchise, the player is periodically reminded of the sci-fi modern Abstergo element with low gritty analog synth pulses weaving in and out of the classical soundscape."
Sarah's previous scoring credits include arranging and composing additional music for Brian Tyler on various cinematic projects such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Far Cry 3, Now You See Me, Iron Man 3 and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, which was nominated for a 2014 BAFTA Award for Best Original Music. Her upcoming projects include the Lionsgate horror thriller Lazarus produced by Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Purge) and starring Olivia Wilde, Mark Duplass, Donald Glover, Evan Peters and Sarah Bolger. Lazarus premieres in US theaters January 2015.
Set in a once-magnificent Paris, Assassin's Creed Unity plunges into the terror of the 1789 French Revolution and features the most dense and immersive Assassin's Creed city ever created. Through the streets of Paris, the starving inhabitants are set to take up arms for freedom and equality. In this time of chaos and brutality, a young man named Arno, wounded by the loss of those he loved, sets on a deadly path of redemption. Arno's pursuit throws him into the middle of a ruthless struggle for the fate of a nation, and transforms him into a true Master Assassin.
Assassin's Creed® Unity will be released on November 11 in the US and on November 13 in Europe. For more information visit www.assassinscreed.com.

SUNSET OVERDRIVE
Los Angeles, CA (October 27, 2014) - Composer Boris Salchow (Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time, Fuse, Resistance 2&3) continues his long-standing musical collaboration with independent video game developer Insomniac Games to score the cinematic music for their highly-anticipated next-generation shooter, "Sunset Overdrive," published by Microsoft Studios. Reflecting the game's over-the-top sense of humor and frenetic gameplay style, Boris Salchow's eclectic cinematic score ranges from electro-industrial, alt-rock, spikey punk and headbangin' metal cues to '60s Hollywood orchestral music, zombie horror, spaghetti western and even minstrel ballads! "Sunset Overdrive" will be released worldwide exclusively for the Xbox One starting October 28.
Filled to the brim with Insomniac Games' trademark humor and satire, "Sunset Overdrive" is a rebellious game that explodes the rules and flips modern conventions of post-apocalyptic shooter video games on their head. Now based in Los Angeles, Salchow has composed for feature films and video games including the internationally-released action thriller 80 Minutes, additional music for Elsewhere, and additional music for the Sony/Screen Gems teenage horror mystery Prom Night. Salchow 's music can also be heard in Ubisoft's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, Sony's Resistance 2, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time, and Resistance 3. Recorded with A-list musicians at Abbey Road Studios in London, Salchow's dark, emotional orchestral score for Resistance 3 was hailed as one of the top video game scores of the year by Classical MPR. Salchow continues to write music for commercials, promos and trailers for some of the most prestigious brands in the world including Adidas, Audi, and Lamborghini.

THE VANISHING OF ETHAN CARTER New York (January 20, 2015) - Sumthing Else Music Works today announced the worldwide digital release of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Original Soundtrack featuring the original score from the breathtakingly atmospheric first-person mystery game focused on exploration and discovery. Created by jazz and classically-trained Polish composer Mikolai Stroinski (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Dark Souls 2 trailer), the game's evocative music soundtrack will be available digitally from Sumthing.com, iTunes, Amazon and other digital music sites on January 27.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter soundtrack has garnered numerous accolades for its immersive and ethereal emotional quality including nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition at the 18th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards and Best Audio at the 15th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards.
Describing his process for finding the musical voice for Ethan Carter, Mikolai Stroinski explains, "I'm a pianist. Through improvisation I was trying to come up with a central theme that would capture the story of Ethan Carter. I was planning on orchestrating it once approved. As it turned out, The Astronauts loved it so much they didn't want to add anything. And so it stayed. If you listen closely to the melodic pieces from the score, you will notice that each one is a variation of 'Ethan's Theme'. It borrows either the melodic shape, or the rhythms or the distinguishing melodic intervals."
Developed by Polish indie game development studio The Astronauts, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a "weird fiction" horror focused on atmosphere, mood and the essential humanity of its characters. With its mixture of a beautiful world with the haunting and macabre, the game is catered to immersive storytelling for adult players.
You play as Paul Prospero, an occult-minded detective who receives a disturbing letter from Ethan Carter. Realizing the boy is in grave danger, Paul arrives at Ethan's home of Red Creek Valley, where things turn out to be even worse than he imagined. Ethan has vanished in the wake of a brutal murder, which Paul quickly discerns might not be the only local murder worth looking into.
Experience in non-linear fashion, a story that combines the pleasures of pulp, private eye and horror fiction inspired by writers such as Raymond Chandler, Algernon Blackwood, Stefan Grabiński, and H. P. Lovecraft. Explore and interact with the beautiful yet ominous world of Red Creek Valley, which was created with the use of revolutionary photogrammetry technology that allows for nearly photorealistic environments.

MASSIVE CHALICE Oakland, CA (January 30, 2015) - Composer duo Brian Trifon and Brian Lee White, aka music producers Finishing Move, have created a unique, modern fantasy score for Massive Chalice, the single player tactical strategy game from the creators of Psychonauts, Brütal Legend, and Iron Brigade. The Massive Chalice Original Soundtrack is now available for streaming on Soundcloud and will be released on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play and Xbox Music on February 2.
The game's development team at Double Fine Productions approached Brian Trifon and Brian Lee White, best known in the recording industry as purveyors of melodic acoustic manipulation and heavy electronic synths, to create an original sound for their game that would transcend a traditional orchestral palette for a more unconventional and experimental soundtrack specific to the individual artistic vision for Massive Chalice.
"The game doesn't rely on standard fantasy tropes like elves, dwarves, or dragons and I knew that I wanted a unique soundtrack that would match the originality of the game," explains Brad Muir, Project Lead for Massive Chalice. "We relied on the music to carry a lot of the emotional weight of the game, and Finishing Move really understood what we were going for. The score quickly became the core of the game's emotional content for us as we developed the game."
Developed by Double Fine Productions, the award-winning, independent game studio founded by Tim Schafer, Massive Chalice is currently in beta for Windows, Mac, and Linux. For more information visit www.massivechalice.com.

HALO: SPARTAN STRIKE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK
New York (April 16, 2015) - Following his recent collaborations with 343 Industries on the re-imagined soundtrack to "Halo 2: Anniversary" and original score for "Halo Spartan: Assault," award-winning composer and music producer Tom Salta returns to the iconic "Halo" video game series to provide an original score for "Halo: Spartan Strike," the newest mobile top-down shooter from the "Halo" universe launching today for Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, iPhone, iPad, and Steam. The game's original soundtrack is available for digital download on iTunes, Xbox Music, and all other digital music services. Sample tracks are streaming at soundcloud.com/343ndustries.
Tom Salta's second solo outing in the "Halo" universe, "Halo: Spartan Strike" continues the legacy sound of the "Halo" soundtracks - featuring ethereal choral arrangements, piano motifs, synth ambience and sweeping sci-fi orchestral compositions that are distinctly identifiable and authentic to the franchise.
Expanding on his "Halo: Spartan Assault" score, which received "Best Original Soundtrack" at the 2014 Game Audio Network Guild Awards, Salta further develops his contemporary musical voice in the "Halo" universe with original sounds to complement the musical blueprint of the first trilogy, combined with a full modern sound production to create a new, classic "Halo" soundtrack.
The score was recorded with the New York Film Chorale and Macedonian Radio Symphonic Orchestra and features solo performances by celebrated musicians Jillian Aversa (vocal) and Steve Ouimette (guitar).
Intimately familiar with the "Halo" universe, Salta previously created synthesis, drums, and percussion for "Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary" and the re-imagined score for "Halo 2: Anniversary" released as part of the "Halo: Master Chief Collection."
"Tom continues to be a great partner for our franchise, and has crafted a stunning musical offering that enhances the overall mix of the game and captures the sonic essence of the Halo experience," said Paul Lipson, Senior Audio Director at 343 Industries.
Renowned for crafting emotionally engaging music for interactive media, Tom Salta has received widespread industry acclaim for his world-class produced scores featured in video game titles such as "Halo 2: Anniversary," "Halo: Spartan Assault," "Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary," "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands," "Red Steel," "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon," and "Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X" series.
Prior to his composing career, Salta toured with and worked on releases by a diverse array of popular music artists such as Peter Gabriel, Everything But The Girl, Deep Forest and Sinead O'Connor. After several years of touring, he transitioned to more studio work including producing, remixing and songwriting. Recording under the artist name "Atlas Plug," Salta released the critically acclaimed electronic / orchestral music album "2 Days or Die" which introduced a new hybrid sound to the visual entertainment industry at large, garnering high-profile placements on numerous television shows on ABC, CBS, MTV, NBC as well as national commercials, movie trailers, and video games.
Developed by 343 Industries in conjunction with Vanguard Games, "Halo: Spartan Strike" is an all new story in the "Halo" universe. SWORD COAST LEGENDS ORLANDO, Fla. (May 26, 2015) - Independent developers n-Space and Digital Extremes announced today that Hollywood Music Award-winning and two-time BAFTA nominated composer Inon Zur is composing the original score for the studios' upcoming Sword Coast Legends™, a party-based PC RPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms universe from Wizards of the Coast. Known for powerful and melodic orchestrations, Zur's critically acclaimed scores have been heard in some of the most popular and well regarded video games of all time, including Dragon Age: Origins, Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, Icewind Dale II, Fallout 3, EverQuest and many others.
Recorded in Prague, the Czech Republic by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the rich orchestral soundtrack for Sword Coast Legends helps bring the game's numerous, well-known, and highly varied locations, environments and encounters to life: from the raw emotion captured in Luskan Streets; to the uneasy anticipation of the Evermoors; and the heroic main theme. The official orchestral soundtrack for Sword Coast Legends will be available with the game later this year.
"Throughout his career, Inon's music has been integral to many of the game industry's most memorable experiences and has raised the bar on what we expect from a video game score today. His ability to capture the player's experience through his music is second to none," said Dan Tudge, President of n-Space and Director of Sword Coast Legends. "It's wonderful to see Inon return to Dungeons & Dragons and the Forgotten Realms setting, where I'm confident our deep story, compelling characters, and rich environments will inspire one of Inon's most memorable works to date."
Releasing later this year, Sword Coast Legends offers an all-new way to enjoy the time-tested magic of playing Dungeons & Dragons, with a first-of-its-kind real-time Dungeon Master mode, which allows players to play alongside an active DM, whose primary role is to provide a more robust and enriching roleplaying experience. Active DMs can dramatically alter adventures, challenge players with random encounters, hide treasures, place traps, take direct control of powerful opponents, reward clever adventurers, and even reduce encounter difficulty on-the-fly. And, much like the player party, DMs earn experience, are rewarded with power-ups, increase in level, and gain new abilities as the adventure progresses.
For the single player, Sword Coast Legends will offer a lengthy campaign mode featuring a deep and engrossing storyline, a host of potential companions with unique personalities, and quest lines that will lead the player through a variety of well-known locations along the Sword Coast.
Sword Coast Legends is currently available for pre-order from Steam at a limited and discounted price of $34.99. Digital Deluxe and Collector's Editions, which include a tome of knowledge, cloth map of the Sword Coast, the official soundtrack, numerous in-game bonuses, starter items and DM abilities, as well as a statue of the powerful demon Belaphoss (Collector's Edition) are also available for pre-order for $59.99 and $239.99, respectively.

SUPERNOVA Volume 1: Through The Portal
Paris, France (May 19, 2015) - Hailed by MTV as "Game music's eclectic daredevil," IFMCA award-winning composer Olivier Derivière (Remember Me) continues to push the boundaries of enhancing interactive experiences through music with his latest opus for the upcoming online space video game SUPERNOVA, developed by Primal Game Studio and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
For SUPERNOVA, Derivière has combined his trademark electronic music wizardry with epic orchestral space themes recorded with the Philharmonia Orchestra at Abbey Road by three-time GRAMMY® award-winning engineer John Kurlander (The Lord of the Rings). Entitled "SUPERNOVA Volume 1: Through The Portal" the original soundtrack is now available for digital download on Bandcamp and other digital music sites. Preview samples of the score are available at Soundcloud.
"The musical journey of the OST follows a big crescendo from a star's birth to its supernova," explains Derivière. "Volume 1 is about the first planet, more will come as the game progressively extends its universe to new worlds. This is only the beginning."
SUPERNOVA's futuristic science fiction setting, with technology and space-faring races, offers huge gameplay possibilities. Players are transported to a universe where contests between commanders are won with unique technologies and strange alien powers. Set in the distant, space-faring future, SUPERNOVA takes an innovative approach to the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) genre by adding real-time strategy (RTS) elements and promises an exciting science fiction setting with vast potential.
For more than a decade, Olivier Derivière has been scoring music for animation, films and video games and is widely acclaimed for both his composition and innovative approaches to connecting music with the game experience, including the groundbreaking titles Assassin's Creed IV Freedom Cry and Remember Me. Driven by his passion to provide players with a unique musical experience that truly reflects each game, both musically and directly in sync with the gameplay itself, Derivière often blends traditional musical elements with unorthodox sound techniques in pursuit of creating an authentic score that fully immerses the player in the gameplay and story.
Olivier Derivière started studying classical percussions at the age of five and went on to study harmony, counterpoint and instrumentation at the Conservatory of Nice, France. As a teenager he learned about the technical aspects of writing music for interactive media when he attended many coding parties where passionate programmers would compete in creating code, graphics and music on computers. In 2000 he won a scholarship to Berklee College of Music to study film scoring and jazz. In Boston he would spend an entire season with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and interact with renowned musicians, composers and conductors. This experience with the BSO taught him more about music scoring than ever before and fueled his vision to bring great performers to video games.
His first video game score, ObScure, a survival horror game, featured the talents of Children's Choir of the National Opera of Paris and for the sequel, ObScure 2: The Aftermath, Derivière commissioned the Boston String Quartet. Following this formative period of honing his craft as a composer for interactive media, his other notable scores included Alone in the Dark for which he wrote original songs that were performed by the Grammy® winning choir The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices - the score was recognized by Billboard and The New York Times - and the harsh, melancholic score for Of Orcs and Men featuring performances by the Boston Cello Quartet from the BSO.
In 2014 Derivière's exhilarating sci-fi action score to Remember Me set the film and video game scoring world abuzz ("Cinematic and magnificent" - GameTrailers, "Fantastic and evocative" - IGN, "One of the best soundtracks...this generation" - Destructoid), firmly establishing his reputation as a rising star for exploring new musical territory and intricate music productions. His bold originality and ambitious concept of sampling and digitally processing live orchestra to create a genre-bending glitch music, immersing players in the 'memory remix' gameplay and dystopian futurist story, was presented with the International Film Music Critics Association Award for Best Original Score for a Video Game or Interactive Media.
His dynamic talents were also on display in last year's Assassin's Creed IV - Freedom Cry, the stand-alone story about Adéwalé, a former slave-turned-assassin who attempts to save his enslaved people in Haiti. Once again Derivière seized the opportunity to bring a new dimension to the player's experience. Recording the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and La Troupe Makandal, he introduced traditional Haitian music and dance to evoke the Afro-Haitian struggle for freedom, increasingly blending the troupe's distinctive drumming and vocals into the gameplay as Adéwalé's crusade to free his people unfolds.
No matter the genre, Derivière's main focus continues to be enhancing the player's interactive experience through music.
