PROJECT CARS ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK London, United Kingdom (July 6, 2015) - British film, television and video game composer Stephen Baysted has released his original soundtrack for the best-selling racing game Project CARS on publisher label Red Rocca. Baysted's previous game soundtrack credits include The Walking Dead: Assault and Need For Speed series.
As both composer and audio director for Project CARS, Baysted commented, "Like all authentic racing simulation titles, there is no music during gameplay; car engines always take precedence. My job as composer is to try to enhance the player's sense of immersion in this world of racing and deepen their emotional and psychological responses to it by 'preparing' them for the race. The music in the menu system is therefore dramatic, gripping, epic, gladiatorial and is infused with race day sounds - cars, crowds, tannoys - so that it links directly to the sound world they will be exposed to whilst racing. It tries to get inside the head of the racing driver and represent the range of emotions they feel - fear, excitement, nerves, adrenaline pumping, and danger. Imagine what it is like driving at Le Mans at 330 kph in the dark as you slice your way through traffic! As a result, it's a varied score and reflects many facets of motorsport."
Baysted recruited a stellar lineup of musicians for the soundtrack recording. Principal vocal performances are by Susan Legg whose opera engagements have included Bayreuth, Glyndebourne, Wexford, and Ischia, with additional vocal performance on "Ferrari" by Louise Walsh (lead role in Phantom Of The Opera in London) whose operatic engagements have included the Royal Opera House, La Monnaie in Brussels, and StaatsOper Stuttgart.
Pianist Jonathan Plowright re-recorded the piano solo for the Liszt/Beethoven Symphony 7 which was featured in the 2014 Gamescom Trailer. Jonathan has been described by Gramophone Magazine as "one of the finest living pianists" and is currently recording the definitive Brahms Piano works for Bis records.
Chris Blackwell plays drums (two world tours with Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant and several albums) with credits including Now & Zen, Manic Nirvana, Knebworth (the Live album), Fate Of Nations, Sixty Six to Timbuktu and the boxed set entitled Nine Lives. From these Platinum selling albums came many worldwide hits co-written by Chris, including Tie Dye On The Highway, Watching You, and a Grammy-nomination for Calling To You.
Additionally, John J Harvey plays guitar and co-composed the track "Green, Green, Green" with Baysted. John J Harvey's credits include Ripper Street (additional composition) and The Walking Dead: Assault (co-composer).
The album was recorded and mixed by Nick Taylor (Thor, Mr. Turner, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) at Air-Edel Studios in London.
Renowned for his versatility, emotionally charged and expressively powerful music, Stephen Baysted's acclaimed music scores have been enjoyed by audiences worldwide in a succession of award-winning visual arts projects including the new Exhibition on Screen documentary feature film The Impressionists - And The Man Who Made Them (screening in select US theaters July 14); the Royal Television Society award-winning Matisse: Live from the Tate and MoMa with director Phil Grabsky; the psychological drama Strange Factories; Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead: Assault; the international award-winning documentary Life Lines and Tim Pope's Brandy and Pep.
Born in London, Stephen Baysted's passion for music began during his school years singing, touring and recording with the internationally acclaimed Wandsworth School Boys' Choir and playing clarinet in the London Schools' Symphony Orchestra. Stephen studied music at Southampton University and at Dartington College of Arts, where he was awarded a PhD.

They also completed the score for Ubisoft’s highly anticipated new installment in their AAA franchise, Tom Clancy’s “Splinter Cell Blacklist.” This was following up on the heels of “Splinter Cell Conviction” which was one of the highest grossing games of 2010 and featured over two hours of Kaveh and Michael’s cinematic score recorded on the legendary Warner Bros. Eastwood Scoring Stage. They have provided scores for the tie-in to Warner Bros.’ “Green Lantern” movie, “Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters” for Warner Bros. Interactive and Activision’s “Battleship” game based on Universal’s summer blockbuster film. NO MAN’S SKY: MUSIC FOR AN INFINITE UNIVERSE
65daysofstatic set to release the official soundtrack to the most anticipated game of the year, No Man’s Sky on June 17th. Formed in 2001, the Sheffield four piece have continued to evolve from their chaotic, thrashy inception to the measured, sonic brutalism of recent years. Releasing 6 albums of experimental, noisy instrumental music since 2004, they have developed a unique sound with a broad aural palette, a healthy disrespect for genre and a delight in mashing the extremes of both guitar and electronic music together. Their most recent record ‘Wild Light’, released in 2013, was the band’s most widely received album to date with the likes of NME, Clash, Kerrang, Rock Sound, Independent, Q, Fake DIY, Line Of Best Fit and Drowned in Sound all heaping praise on the band’s work. In 2016 they hope to take things to a whole new level with the release of the official soundtrack to the space exploration game No Man’s Sky. As well as the game’s official soundtrack, ’No Man’s Sky: Music for an Infinite Universe’ is very much a new 65daysofstatic record, comprising 10 original new songs that make up the official soundtrack along with an additional collection of soundscapes and sound design, exclusive to this release. Grand in ambition, the album presents a restless, overwhelming experience, both a natural progression from ‘Wild Light’ and an attempt to answer the question, ‘what does forever sound like?’. While 65 have made inroads into soundtrack and composition work via their alternative soundtrack to the sci-fi classic, ‘Silent Running’, this is by far the biggest project they have yet undertaken. However, having spent over a decade striving to make compelling, dynamic music with a cinematic scope, it feels like a natural progression. Recorded at Chapel Studios, Lincolnshire with co-producer Dave Sanderson (Reverend & the Makers), and mixed at Castle of Doom, Glasgow by Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian) in early 2015, ‘No Man’s Sky: Music for an Infinite Universe’ will be released by Laced Records. Of the project, 65daysofstatic say ‘Being involved with No Man’s Sky is as unlikely as it is exciting. Two years of our lives have disappeared into a black hole and we’ve been spat out into another dimension. The project has pushed us to explore new processes and techniques, to rethink our relationship with our own music and to essentially soundtrack every narrative thread of a ‘choose your own adventure’ novel that exists only in our minds. We’re really proud of the results, and can’t wait to release the album and play it live.’ No Man’s Sky’s procedurally generated universe is unlike anything yet seen in the gaming world, and 65daysofstatic’s sonic assault is equally ambitious. The music, along with a vast library of raw audio comprised of loops, sound textures and melody is currently being fed into the game’s unique music engine, effectively creating a self-generating soundtrack to infinity. The album will be available on the following formats and is available for pre-order through the Laced Records web-store now: www.lacedrecords.com • Digital download / streaming on all major music retail stores of 16 track deluxe album (10 track album + 6 soundscapes) • Deluxe double CD (Including 10 track album + 6 soundscapes) • 10 track double vinyl including digital download of all 16 tracks/soundscapes • Deluxe X4 LP vinyl collectors box-set edition of all 16 tracks on vinyl including digital download No Man's Sky is available to pre-order now: PS4: www.playstation.com/en-gb/games/no-mans-sky-ps4/ PC: Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/275850/ GOG.com: www.gog.com/game/no_mans_sky) Humble Bundle: www.humblebundle.com/store/p/no_mans_sky_storefront Information of the game can be found on the official website: www.no-mans-sky.com/ Upcoming live dates: 28th April – 02 Academy 2, Liverpool 29th April – Handmade Festival, Leicester 30th April – Trades Club, Hebden Bride 5th May – Dunk Festival, Belgium 24th July – Bluedot Festival, Manchester

BEYOND: TWO SOULS
(April 4, 2016 – Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release BEYOND: TWO SOULS - Original Video Game Soundtrack digitally on April 22, 2016 and on CD May 6, 2016. The album features the original score by Lorne Balfe (TERMINATOR GENISYS, PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR, ASSASSIN'S CREED III). The BEYOND: TWO SOULS is an interactive drama action-adventure video game for the PlayStation 3 home video game console, created by French game developer Quantic Dream and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. BEYOND: TWO SOULS features performances by Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, which was originally released in October of 2013 and re-released in 2015 for PS4. "Scoring a film has restrictions, whereas scoring a game does not,” Balfe stated. "Everyday I worked on BEYOND: TWO SOULS brought a new surprise. As a composer, you spend your time with your head down, staring at your hands, stumbling to find a chord progression or tense. But when I looked up at this footage, I never would have thought it was a game I was scoring. At one moment it was a game, but then it quickly became more far more." Lorne Balfe is a Grammy Award-winning, EMMY and BAFTA nominated film composer from Inverness, Scotland. Lorne is known for composing the scores to Dreamworks Animation’s Penguins of Madagascar and Home, as well as Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media’s Terminator Genisys. Lorne’s credits include major studio film releases, video game franchises, beloved animated features, and highly acclaimed documentaries. In 2014 Lorne composed the score for Manny, a documentary about the life of Manny Pacquiao, eight-division world champion and ten-time world title winning boxer, which premiered at SXSW in 2015. He composed the score for Dreamworks Animation’s Penguins of Madagascar that was released worldwide in the fall of 2014. Immediately following the release of PENGUINS, Lorne completed the score for Dreamworks Animation’s Home starring Rihanna, Jim Parsons and Steve Martin that released in March 2015. Balfe kicked off 2016 with the release of 13 HOURS: THE SECRET SOLDIERS OF BENGHAZI. In addition to recognition earned for producing two of Hans Zimmer’s Oscar-nominated scores, Sherlock Holmes and Inception, Lorne found additional footing in the video game world. In 2011, Lorne composed alongside Jesper Kyd for the game, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and earned a BAFTA nomination for Best Original Music. A year later in 2012, Lorne was already hard at work composing as a solo composer for Skylanders: Giants and Assassin’s Creed III that earned Lorne his second BAFTA nomination for Best Original Music, as well as the nomination for the BSO Goldspirit Award for Best Score for a Video Game. In late 2013 Skylanders: Swap Force as well as Beyond: Two Souls were released. Lorne has since composed the scores for all of the most recent Skylanders games by Activision. From the visionary mind of David Cage, director of the award-winning Heavy Rain™, comes the most powerfully emotional experience on PlayStation® 3. A singularly unique psychological action thriller delivered by A-list Hollywood performances by Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, BEYOND: TWO SOULS takes you on a thrilling journey across the globe as you play out the remarkable life of Jodie Holmes. Lakeshore Records will release BEYOND: TWO SOULS - Original Video Game Soundtrack digitally on April 22, 2016 and on CD May 6, 2016

REVELATION (April 26, 2016 – Los Angeles, CA) – Varèse Sarabande will release the REVELATION – Original Game Soundtrack digitally on April 29 and on CD May 27, 2016. The game features original music by Neal Acree (WORLD OF WARCRAFT, OVERWATCH). The score earned the Global Music Award (Game Music and Original Score), the Scorecast Genius Choice Vote Award, and earned nominations for a Game Audio Network Guild Award as “Best Instrumental” by the International Film Music Critics Awards for "Best Score: Video Game.” “Having worked in both film and games I really enjoy projects like these where the line between the mediums is blurred,” said Acree. “The score for REVELATION could easily have been a score for a film. Ultimately we are all telling stories and painting pictures with sound. The viewer or the player might be experiencing these stories and places in different ways but the emotions we paint with are universal.” REVELATION ONLINE, known in China as “TianYu,” is a Chinese themed fantasy MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) by NetEase, one of China’s top game companies. The game features a mythology written by bestselling Chinese author Jiangnan. REVELATION, already a popular game in China will be released in Europe and North America soon with a release date to be announced in the next month. “The score for REVELATION called for a rich, cinematic sound but the game’s story and artwork called for a traditional Chinese palette,” Acree described. “Orchestra blended with traditional Chinese and Japanese instruments was the natural approach and can make for some beautiful and evocative colors. Each Chinese instrument has its counterpart in the Western orchestra but brings a unique character to the overall sound. Combining the cinematic scope of the orchestra with the unique colors of the traditional Asian instruments helped create an otherworldly sound that existed somewhere between the two worlds that created it.” Neal Acree is an award winning film, television and video game composer and conductor whose work includes the massively popular game franchises WORLD OF WARCRAFT, STARCRAFT 11, DIABLO III, OVERWATCH, shows like STARGATE SG-1, STARGATE ATLANTIS, WITCHBLADE and over 30 feature films. A versatile and prolific composer with roots in classical, rock and electronic music, Acree's music has been recorded and performed by orchestras and choirs around the world, including the hit concert tour Video Games Live. In addition to winning two Hollywood Music In Media Awards, a Golden Reel Award, six Game Audio Network Guild Awards and four Global Music Awards, Neal was also nominated for a BAFTA, four Academy Of Interactive Arts and Sciences Awards as well as numerous critic awards. In 2014 Neal’s critically acclaimed, Asian themed music for WORLD OF WARCRAFT: MISTS OF PANDARIA would open a new door, this time to the East when Chinese game giant NetEase gave him the unique opportunity to write a traditional Chinese score for their fantasy MMO REVELATION ONLINE (one of the first times a Chinese game company had hired a Westerner to do so). Neal will be collaborating with NetEase on projects including IMPERIAL REIGN, WILDFIRE, and LEGENDS OF TIBET.
Writing the music for REVELATION was very personal for Acree, it was the last of his scores he was able to play for his father before he passed away. Acree remembered, “His love of Chinese movies and culture was a way of life. We studied martial arts together when I was a kid and he would go on to teach Tai Chi for over 20 years. He was never a religious man but became a Buddhist later in life. One of his lifelong dreams was to visit China so when I got to go for the first time and conduct, I felt like I was living his dream.” Though he is not formally trained in Asian music, Acree often writes with an Asian palette. “The key to making the music sound genuine (aside from a lot of research) is to put it in the hands of musicians who truly understand their instrument and who grew up playing Chinese music,” Acree explained. “Inviting the players to interpret the melodies through their own voices and experience opens up a new world of possibilities and gives the music a sense of authenticity that would be impossible to achieve otherwise. The music of REVELATION wouldn't be what it is without the talents of Tina Guo (cello solos), Karen Han (erhu), Bei Bei (guzheng), Jie Ma (pipa) and Uyanga Bold (vocals). The best part about working with musicians like these is that it's the best way to learn how to write for the instrument.” Varèse Sarabande will release the REVELATION – Original Soundtrack digitally on April 29 and on CD May 27, 2016.

1979 REVOLUTION: BLACK FRIDAY
(May 4, 2016 – Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release 1979 REVOLUTION: BLACK FRIDAY – Original Video Game Soundtrack digitally on May 13, 2016. The album features the game’s original score by Nima Fakhrara (THE GIRL IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS, THE SIGNAL). Called “A truly revolutionary video game,” by The New Yorker. BuzzFeed says, “You're Going to Love This.” 1979 REVOLUTION: BLACK FRIDAY has already been featured in both videogame and mainstream press including NPR, BBC, Washington Post, and Time Magazine. “The beauty of this game is that it has different points of views, the player chooses and explorers these views, its the players perspective not the game itself,” explained Fakhrara. “The game itself has no political agenda, it’s more as a platform to be a storyteller and also in some ways an educational avenue. My background of being an Iranian American brought a different approach to the musical ideas of this game. Been brought up in an Iranian family but being raised in an American culture allowed me to capture both worlds.” The year is 1978, the place is Tehran, Iran. You are Reza Shirazi, a striving photojournalist, who after studying abroad returns home to find his people in a bloodied uprising against the ruling King, the Shah. Led by your best friend, Babak, you are swept up by a web of underground activities and meet a vivid cast of characters. As the revolution tears through your country, friends and family, the fates of those around you hinge on the consequences of your choices. 1979 REVOLUTION was created by GRAND THEFT AUTO veteran Navid Khonsari and his NYC studio iNK Stories, committed to telling impact forward, edgy stories in games. Made with the support of the Sundance Institute and Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art Grant and IFP/Made in NY. The cast includes Navid Negahban (HOMELAND, AMERICAN SNIPER), Farshad Farahat (Argo, 300: Rise of an Empire, State of Affairs), Omid Abtahi (Hunger Games, Better Call Saul, Argo), Bobby Naderi (Fear the Walking Dead, Taqwacores), Mozhan Marno (House of Cards, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, The Blacklist), Nicholas Guilak (Of Gods and KingS, 24), Mary Apick (Homeland, Beneath The Veil), Fariborz David Diaan (The Brink, Stoning of Soraya, Weeds). “For this project, authenticity of the location and the era was important,” said Fakhrara. To capture the time period, he used period-accurate recording techniques (right down to the microphones, compressors and tape machines) and analog synths. “One of the things that I tried to do was to replace any western instruments with an Iranian instrument from the same family. I want to emphasize that I ONLY used Iranian instruments, not arabic, greek, Armenian, or any other countries’ instruments, I wanted to use authentic instruments from my country. For example, the Santour, being a dulcimer, and dulcimer coming from the Piano family, was used to replace and accentuate the sound of the piano. And at times the Santour replaced piano. Also at times the sounds of the Iranian interments were shaped to become something that we recognize as ‘Tradition Western Instruments’.” Born in Iran, Nima’s first experience with music was listening to his uncle play the santour. Influenced by this, he studied santour and became well versed in Persian classical music. After moving to the United States, Nima continued his musical studies and attended California State University Northridge where he obtained his degree in composition studies. However, his interest in music was not limited to composition and performance. He studied ethnomusicology, anthropology, and how to construct instruments, which has led to signature sound in Nima's music. This is apparent in his sampling and use of instruments from many regions of the world in various genres of film. The use of these new sounds alongside orchestral and ambient textures is a defining characteristic in his scores. In 2014, Nima open Zoo Creative Studios, where he alongside his most used musicians are housed. Founder of Zoo Creatives, Nima Fakhrara is a film composer with studios in Los Angeles and New York City, who has worked with directors such as Golden Globe winner Hany Abu-Assad, and the father of found footage, Eduardo Sanchez. His most recent scores are to Los Angeles Film Festival Officially selected Consumed directed by Daryl Wein, the Sundance official selection The Signal, directed by William Eubanks, GATCHAMAN, directed by Toya Sato and starring Tori Matsuzaka and Ryohei Suzuki, a live-action take on the anime series Battle of the Planets, Site 146, directed by Gregory Levveseur, starring Denis O’Hare and Ashley Hinshaw, and produced by Alexander Aja (Piranha 3D), and EXISTS, directed by Eduardo Sanchez. His score for THE GIRL IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS, the final film executive produced by Wes Craven, was released earlier this year. Ink Stories presents 1979 REVOLUTION: BLACK FRIDAY, currently available via Steam or GOG and coming soon to iOS. Lakeshore Records will release 1979 REVOLUTION: BLACK FRIDAY – Original Video Games Soundtrack digitally on May 13, 2016.

No Man’s Sky UK instrumental band 65daysofstatic today announce the official global release of their first video game soundtrack, No Man’s Sky: Music for an Infinite Universe, via Laced Records on 5th August 2016. The release will coincide with the release of No Man’s Sky, the highly-anticipated science fiction exploration game from Guildford-based studio Hello Games, available on PS4 and PC from August 9 in North America, August 10 in Europe and in the UK. After the track ‘Debutante’ accompanied the first reveal of No Man’s Sky in 2013, the band spent over a year composing original music for the game’s soundtrack. No Man’s Sky’s procedurally generated universe is unlike anything yet seen in the gaming world, and 65daysofstatic’s sonic assault is equally ambitious. The release itself comprises 10 tracks of original music, plus a second collection of 6 soundscapes and sound design, exclusive to Laced Records in an all-encompassing journey of almost two hours. This music, alongside a vast library of raw audio comprised of loops, sound textures and melody is currently being fed into the game’s unique music engine under the auspices of audio director Paul Weir, effectively creating a self-generating soundtrack to infinity. Attempting to move away from the granular, soft-focus ambience often found in procedurally generated games, the in-game music aims to travel effortlessly between the minimal, barren melodies of outer space to the intense, visceral, aural squall of galactic survival. No Man’s Sky: Music for an Infinite Universe is equally grand in its ambition, an experimental and overwhelming sonic experience that pushes 65dos into new territory while retaining their innate sense of relentlessness, driving rhythm, and a tune you can hum. Work on the game’s audio will continue right up to No Man’s Sky’s release, and 65daysofstatic are immensely privileged to have been given the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of sound design and composition. Given that their involvement in the project is now reaching the two-year mark, they are equally excited to get back out on the road and bring the energy and scope of infinite space to the live arena. 65daysofstatic said; “Being involved with No Man’s Sky is as unlikely as it is exciting. We’re really proud of the results, and can’t wait to release the album and play it live.” No Man’s Sky: Music for an Infinite Universe will comprise of a ten track album including a second collection of six soundscapes, all essentially part of the same body of work. Recorded at Chapel Studios, Lincolnshire with co-producer Dave Sanderson (Reverend & The Makers), and mixed at Castle of Doom, Glasgow by Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian) in early 2015, the album will be released by Laced Records August 5th. No Man’s Sky: Music for an Infinite Universe will be available for purchase and streaming at all major digital music retailers, as well as on deluxe double CD. The artwork was by long time 65daysofstatic collaborator, Caspar Newbolt of Version Industries (Louis CK, Alessandro Cortini, Daft Punk, Big Black Delta). Formed in 2001, they have released six studio albums, the most recent being 2013’s ‘Wild Light’, garnering an international audience. Having toured relentlessly in the decade following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘The Fall of Math’ (2004), they have in more recent years expanded their manifesto to include soundtracks and conceptual art installations. ‘Sleepwalk City’ (2013) commissioned by the Millennium Galleries Sheffield, mashed Google satellite imagery with infinite algorithmic drone fabrication via a sixteen speaker custom built audio chamber, culminating in a glorious marathon of nine live performances across two nights. ‘Fugue State for e-bow and guitar’ used custom-hacked midi-controlled magnets to remotely play prepared guitars in a visceral and overwhelming composition inspired by first hand accounts of the effects of British and US led drone warfare. Other works of note include music released as an online real-time re-mix engine (Prisms), infinite composition via a freeware coding platform (YrCodeIsBadAndYouShouldFeelBad), the short experimental film ‘Oscillator’, a reimagined soundtrack to the classic sci-fi film ‘Silent Running’, sound design for the BBC4 radio adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s ‘Slaughterhouse Five’ and a live-soundtrack at the Edinburgh festival for contemporary dance piece ‘Inside’.

The album features original music by Howard Shore (LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY, THE HOBBIT, SPOTLIGHT). Based on the acclaimed book Denial: Holocaust History on Trial, DENIAL recounts Deborah E. Lipstadt’s (Academy Award® winner Rachel Weisz) legal battle for historical truth against David Irving (BAFTA nominee Timothy Spall), who accused her of libel when she declared him a Holocaust denier. In the English legal system, in cases of libel, the burden of proof is on the defendant, therefore it was up to Lipstadt and her legal team, led by Richard Rampton (Academy Award® nominee Tom Wilkinson), to prove the essential truth that the Holocaust occurred. Shore conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for the score. DENIAL will open in NY and LA on September 30, in select cities October 7 and 14, and opening nationwide October 21, 2016. Howe Records will release the DENIAL - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack both on CD and digitally September 30, 2016. In July 2016 Shore was honored to receive the Locarno Film Festival’s Vision Award. TOOTH AND TAIL
(October 16, 2017 – Los Angeles, CA) – Varèse Sarabande will release the TOOTH AND TAIL – Original Video Game Soundtrack on CD November 3 and LP in December. The album features the original music composed by Austin Wintory (Journey, Abzu).
Lead the revolution with an army of flamethrowing Boars, mustard gas-lobbing Skunks, and paratrooper-puking Owls. From the designers of Monaco: What's Yours is Mine, Tooth and Tail is a Real-Time-Strategy game featuring Single Player, Online Competitive Play, Split Screen, Replays, and more. Build a base, lead your army, eat your enemies! The War for Meat -- The Longcoats, the Commonfolk, the KSR, and the Civilized are in the midst of a Civil War over who gets to eat, and who has to be the meat. A darkly humorous tale of riots and revolution is told through an extensive Single Player campaign. There is endless replay-ability with procedurally generated maps and customizable factions, no two conflicts will be the same, forcing players to strategize rather than memorize. Pick-up-and-Play -- With matches lasting from 5-12 minutes, split-screen couch play, and controls designed for controllers or keyboard/mouse, Tooth and Tail is a popcorn RTS for veterans and newcomers alike.
“Normally I’m not interested in writing music that has a sort of deliberate eclecticism, because I tend to heavily favor cohesion and economy,” said Wintory. “Each faction became this sort of quasi-nationalistic sound; a brassy quasi-Bavarian waltz for the militaristic character, an orchestral Italian wedding tarantella for the aristocrats, a strange 'liturgical tango' for the Longcoats, and a semi-Bulgarian folk dance for the Commonfolk. I can honestly say I’ve never attempted a score quite like this.”
Grammy-nominated and two-time BAFTA-winning composer Austin Wintory’s diverse career has straddled the worlds of concert music, film, and video games. In 2012, Austin's soundtrack for the hit PlayStation3 game Journey became the first-ever Grammy-nominated videogame score, also winning two British Academy Awards, a DICE Award, a Spike TV VGA, and IGN’s “Overall Music of the Year,” along with five Game Audio Network Guild awards, and a host of others. Excerpts from the score have been performed all over the world since its release, including by such as ensembles as the National Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Colorado Symphony, Melbourne Symphony, and Pacific Symphony.
Austin’s score for the earlier game flOw made him the youngest composer ever to receive a British Academy Award nomination and also won him a wide variety of other game industry accolades, including the Game Audio Network Guild’s “Rookie of the Year.” An orchestral version of this music has been performed at the Smithsonian Museum as a part of their “Art of Games” exhibit; flOw is currently on display at MoMA in New York City. Since Journey's release Austin's subsequent scores to The Banner Saga, Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Abzu each earning BAFTA nominations, and numerous additional awards, including two wins of the peer-voted ASCAP "Video Game Score of the Year" and Game Audio Network Guild's "Music of the Year." He collaborates regularly with orchestras and chamber ensembles around the world, including recently embarking on a 3-year "Composer in Residence" partnership with the West Michigan and Mobile Symphonies, and has been regularly touring the chamber show "Journey LIVE" with the Chicago-based Fifth House Ensemble. Pocketwatch Games presents TOOTH AND TAIL available now on Windows, MacOS, Linux and PlayStation 4. Varèse Sarabande will release the TOOTH AND TAIL – Original Video Game Soundtrack on CD November 3 and LP in December.

Forza Motorsport 7
(December 12, 2017 – Los Angeles, CA) – Sumthing Else Music Works, the premier record label dedicated to releasing video game soundtracks, is proud to present four soundtracks perfect for the Forza Motorsport game fans. Featuring original music from composers Kaveh Cohen and Michael Nielsen, the label will be releasing the Forza Motorsport 7 original game soundtrack digitally on December 12, 2017. Forza Motorsport 6 Porsche Expansion soundtrack, Forza Motorsport 6 NASCAR Expansion soundtrack and the Forza Motorsport 6 Ultimate Edition, will all be released in 2018.
Composers Cohen and Nielsen created a hybrid symphonic score for Forza Motorsport 6 and the subsequent Porsche and NASCAR expansions. “We approached Forza Motorsport 6 as if we were creating a huge film score,” said Nielsen. “Almost as if you are a supernatural being looking in on your car collection. There were huge differences in musical dynamics from intimate to enormous.”
Experience unrelenting action in the most beautiful and comprehensive racing game of this generation, with Forza Motorsport 6. Collect, customize, and race 460 Forzavista™ cars, all with working cockpits and full damage. Compete in epic 24-player races across 26 world-famous locales. Master wet weather and night racing on your road to victory.
“For Forza Motorsport 6, the idea was to give the score a really filmic sense of depth and scope and to introduce themes to the franchise for the first time. It was a hybrid score recorded with a large 90-piece orchestra,” Cohen explained.
Forza Motorsport 7 immerses players in the exhilarating thrill of competitive racing. From mastering the new motorsport-inspired campaign to collecting a wide range of cars to experiencing the excitement of driving at the limit, this is Forza reimagined.
The Forza Motorsport 7 score is a complete departure from Cohen and Nielsen’s approach to 6. “For Forza Motorsport 7, our conversations early on with Turn 10 Studios centered around the idea of ‘humanizing’ the game, from the GUI to the overall aesthetic look and feel and the music,” Cohen described. “In thinking of the notion of humanizing the music, the game’s audio director felt this could be translated into a band playing together in a room, which in turn after some creative discovery, led us down the road of writing essentially a vintage rock score.”
“You can’t just plug into a computer and get a gritty authentic tone for this kind of music. It’s about moving air, and circuits being pushed to their limits, and fuzz and little electronic explosions,” Nielsen added. “It was vital to have great players, in great sounding rooms, with great instruments.”
ABOUT KAVEH COHEN AND MICHAEL NIELSEN
A rising force in feature films, television, video games and motion picture advertising, Kaveh and Michael have quickly become a first choice to create cutting edge and memorable scores across all genres.
Now in demand in the ever-growing world of video games, Kaveh and Michael very recently completed a unique rock score for a billion dollar motorsport franchise - Microsoft’s “Forza Motorsport 7.” They also scored Microsoft’s “Forza Motorsport 6” which was recorded with a 90-piece orchestra and incorporated cutting edge electronic programming. Both scores are an adrenaline filled journey through the exciting world of motorsport. They also completed the score for “Splinter Cell Blacklist,” Ubisoft’s highly anticipated installment in their AAA Tom Clancy franchise. This was following up on the heels of “Splinter Cell Conviction” which was one of the highest grossing games of 2010 and featured over two hours of Kaveh and Michael’s cinematic score recorded with the Hollywood Studio Symphony on the legendary Warner Bros. Eastwood Scoring Stage. They have provided scores for the tie-in to Warner Bros. Green Lantern movie, “Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters” for Warner Bros. Interactive and Activision’s “Battleship” game based on Universal’s summer blockbuster film. They have also worked with Riot Games to provide scores for their wildly popular “League of Legends” and for “Road to the Cup” a custom piece written for the “League of Legends World Championships” - a sold out event held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, streamed to over 32 million people and with over 6.75 million views to date on YouTube.
Kaveh and Michael’s theme for “Splinter Cell Conviction” was recorded by The London Philharmonic Orchestra for their best selling album “The Greatest Video Game Music” which reached number 23 on the Billboard charts. Famed violinist Angèle Dubeau also recorded a new arrangement of the theme with her string ensemble La Pietà for her album “Game Music.” Their theme for Forza Motorsport 6 received it’s world premiere on the concert stage by the Hradec Kralové Philharmonic as part of a video game music concert.
The duo wrote a rousing theme for the History channel’s highest rated special aired to date, the epic 12 part series “America: The Story of Us" narrated by Liev Schreiber. They also wrote the theme for “The Last Huntsman” for the Discovery Channel, produced by Skip Films. They co-scored Marvel’s hit animated series “Wolverine and the X-Men” and have composed scores for dozens of Emmy nominated and award winning shows and mini series such as Jean- Michel Cousteau’s “Ocean Adventures,” “The Crash of Flight 191,” “Biography: John Travolta,” “Red Flag,” “Above and Beyond,” “Probable Cause,” “The Science of Star Wars,” “The Chronicle” and many others. Not stopping there, Kaveh and Michael have scored numerous commercials for clients including Sony, SEGA, NBC, AT&T, Mattel and Six Flags.
Their feature film scores include “Crawlspace” for writer/director Josh Stolberg (Jigsaw, Sorority Row, Piranha 3D, The Last Airbender) and the award winning film “Generation P,” a critically acclaimed feature adaptation of Viktor Pelevin’s iconic book, directed by celebrated director Victor Ginsburg. Their haunting score for Lionsgate’s cult classic, H.P. Lovecraft’s “Beyond The Wall of Sleep” was also met with critical acclaim.

TORN (August 27, 2018 – Los Angeles, CA) – Varèse Sarabande will release the TORN – Original Video Game Soundtrack on August 31, 2018. The TORN game is to be released on PLAYSTATION and is available on August 28th. This is a soundtrack for the new and emerging realm of VR Video Games. "Torn is one of the most interesting projects I have ever scored and it inspired me to create something I feel is very special musically.” Said composer Garry Schyman. “This virtual reality game is like entering and being part of a fascinating dark mysterious film.” Torn is a dark science-fiction mystery. Deep in a forgotten forest, video blogger Katherine Patterson discovers an abandoned mansion, filled with strange machines and disturbing experiments. This is the home of Dr. Lawrence Talbot, who was reported missing more than 64 years ago. Patterson realizes this could be worth millions, the story of her career. But when she meets Dr. Talbot in person -- alive, trapped in a strange new dimension, and missing his body -- Patterson realizes she was wrong. This is the story of a lifetime. Composer Garry Schyman’s award-winning music spans nearly every audio-visual media, including feature films, prime-time television, and video games. His uniquely haunting orchestral scores for the globally acclaimed video games BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite have earned him multiple awards, including top honors for Best Original Score from the British Academy of Film & Television (BAFTA) and the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, establishing him as one of the world’s most celebrated composers of video game music. Schyman is notable for his versatility of style and unique ability to fluidly draw from multiple eclectic sources of inspiration. He captured the fantasy world of Tolkien for the adventure game Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor (nominated for a BAFTA award) and Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and paid playful homage to ’50s sci-fi with his score for the 2005 game Destroy All Humans! (followed by two sequels). He accelerated heartbeats with his thunderous orchestral scores in action games like Resistance: Retribution and Dante’s Inferno, and gave a nod to the hypnotic style of Bernard Herrmann in the mystery game Voyeur. His film and television credits span every genre, including classic series like The A-Team and Magnum, P.I., stormy action (Tornado!), thrillers (Horseplayer, starring Brad Dourif), and family horror (Spooky House, starring Ben Kingsley). Whatever genre he is writing in, Schyman’s music magnifies the mood or emotion of a scene with compelling melodies, evocative harmonies, and intricate arrangements. Torn opens as a narrative puzzle game, then evolves into a dark, character-driven story as you slowly uncover the truth about Talbot, and the new dimension he calls “The Parallel.” Remember everything you see, for in Talbot’s world, truth is nothing more than the invention of the mind. “The music, performed by some of the best players in LA at my favorite recording studio Fox’s Newman Scoring Stage, sounded so lovely and I could not be more pleased with these recordings." Said composer Garry Schyman. Varèse Sarabande will release the TORN – Original Video Game Soundtrack on August 31, 2018. The TORN game is to be released on PLAYSTATION and is available on August 28th.
