What's New At G-POP.net:
The Legacy Collection: Beauty and the Beast - Melissa Minners reviews Walt Disney Records: Legacy Collection treatment of one of her favorite animated Disney movies.
Excerpt: "Years ago, I posted a review of the digitally restored version of Beauty and the Beast on DVD. I had seen the film in 1991 and loved it, so I jumped on the opportunity to buy the DVD. I’ve watched it a number of times since then. Recently, I was notified that the music of Beauty and the Beast was about to get the Walt Disney Records Legacy Collection treatment. I couldn’t wait to take a listen..."
Star Wars: Battlefront II: Inferno Squad - Melissa Minners reviews the novel based on the new Star Wars video game.
Excerpt: "In 2015, an action shooter video game named Star Wars: Battlefront was published by Electronic Arts. Shortly afterwards, I had the opportunity to read a book by Alexander Freed based on its characters called Star Wars: Battlefront: Twilight Company. Thanks to the popularity of the video game, a sequel made its way to the market. Star Wars: Battlefront II hit the markets in 2017 and, in keeping with tradition, we have another novel – Star Wars: Battlefront II: Inferno Squad, but this story has a bit of a twist…it’s told in the Empire’s point of view..."
Future World - Melissa Minners reviews the soundtrack of the post-apocalyptic action film starring Lucy Liu and James Franco.
Excerpt: "...The music of Future World definitely has that futuristic outlaw/badlands feel to it, especially the Raiders Theme. There is an edgy sort of feel to the whole album, but some parts are more gritty than others. Quite frankly, this score reminds me of every dystopian future wastelands film I have ever listened to..."
