SKY RIDERS (June 25, 2009- Los Angeles, CA) Aleph Records will release the soundtrack for Sky Riders on July 28. Composer Lalo Schifrin wrote the score, which features breathtaking sequences of music underscoring hang-gliders soaring through the skies. The 1976 film Sky Riders starred Robert Culp and Susannah York as Jonas and Ellen Bracken. The life of the international industrialist and his family seems perfect until Ellen and the kids are kidnapped by terrorists in Greece and are held in an abandoned monastery. Inspector Nicholas (Charles Aznavour) unsuccessfully attempts to free them leading Ellens ex-husband (played by James Coburn) to plan a rescue attempt of his own. He hires a group of professional mountain gliders to help rescue the Brackens from the mountain lair where they are being held. Composer Lalo Schifrin is a true Renaissance man. As a pianist, composer and conductor, he is equally at home conducting a symphony orchestra, performing at an international jazz festival, scoring a film or television show, or creating works for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the London Philharmonic and even The Sultan of Oman. He has written more than 100 scores for films and television including the classic scores for Mission: Impossible, Mannix, The Fox, Cool Hand Luke, Bullitt, Dirty Harry, The Cincinnati Kid, and The Amityville Horror. Schifrins recent film scores include Tango, all 3 films from the Rush Hour trilogy, Bringing Down The House, The Bridge of San Luis Rey, After the Sunset, and Abominable. To date, Lalo Schifrin has won four Grammy Awards (with twenty-one nominations), one Cable ACE Award, and received six Oscar nominations. Schifrins score for Sky Riders incorporates many flavors. He utilizes the bouzouki and touches of a traditional Greek folk piece in Climbers, eerie suspenseful power cues like The Terrorists, and traditional circus instrumentation (brass, percussion, and glockenspiel) to achieve a lightness underscoring the first appearance of the hang-gliders in Flying Circus. As described in the liner notes, by Julie Kirgo, Sky Riders is an interesting score in the career of composer Schifrin. Recorded in February of 1976, a year that would see his Academy Award nomination for the more conventional orchestral Voyage of the Damned, Sky Riders would prove to be the last, for a time, in that long, innovative line of jazz/funk-dominated scores with which Schifrin made his reputation. It would be over twenty years before Schifrin would revisit that style, when asked by Brett Ratner to resurrect the funky sound of Enter the Dragon for his 1997 film Money Talks.

(500) DAYS OF SUMMER ON JULY 14TH July 1, 2009 Burbank, CA Sire Records will release the original soundtrack to the Fox Searchlight Pictures feature film (500) Days of Summer on July 14th. The film received a standing ovation at its debut screening during the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and releases in select theaters on July 17th, 2009. (500) Days of Summer is not a love story. It is a story of boy meets girl, begins the wry, probing narrator, and with that the film takes off at breakneck speed into a funny, true-to-life and unique dissection of the unruly and unpredictable year-and-a-half of one young mans no-holds-barred love affair. (500) Days of Summer is the feature film directorial debut from Marc Webb, a noted music video director who has lensed clips for such artists as Regina Spektor, My Chemical Romance, Weezer, and Green Day. So its no surprise that pop music plays an important role in setting the tone in (500) Days of Summer. In keeping with the films playfully unorthodox nature, the soundtrack features a host of offbeat artists, including Regina Spektor, Feist, Black Lips, Doves, Carla Bruni, and The Smiths. In a key moment in the film, Tom (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is listening to the latters song There Is A Light That Never Goes Out on his iPod, while riding in an elevator with Summer (played by Zooey Deschanel), who overhears it and comments that she loves The Smiths. (500) Days of Summer is a movie about love, sure, but it's also a movie about music, says Webb. These songs build bridges between Tom and Summer and they tear them down. They can make you dance and they can make you cry. They describe how we feel and express emotions that just couldn't get out any other way. Music is the soul of this movie. Robert Davis, writing in Paste Magazine said of the film: The dialogue is sharp and witty, the soundtrack is hip and indie, Gordon-Levitt is effortlessly funny, and wide-eyed Deschanel is a good foil for his quirks. (500) Days of Summer had its world premiere at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Directed by Marc Webb and written by Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber, (500) Days of Summer stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. The film was produced by Mason Novick, Jessica Tuchinsky, Mark Waters, and Steven Wolfe. The track-listing for the Original Soundtrack to (500) Days of Summer is as follows: 1. A Story of Boy Meets Girl - Mychael Danna and Rob Simonsen 2. Us - Regina Spektor 3. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out - The Smiths 4. Bad Kids - Black Lips 5. Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want - The Smiths 6. There Goes The Fear - Doves 7. You Make My Dreams - Hall & Oates 8. Sweet Disposition - The Temper Trap 9. Quelqu'un M'a Dit - Carla Bruni 10. Mushaboom - Feist 11. Hero - Regina Spektor 12. Bookends - Simon & Garfunkel 13. Vagabond - Wolfmother 14. She's Got You High - Mumm-Ra 15. Here Comes Your Man - Meaghan Smith 16. Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want - She & Him

TRICK R TREAT In the Tradition of CREEPSHOW and TALES FROM THE CRYPT, Composer Douglas Pipes Sets The Tone For The Scariest Night of The Year (Sept 22, 2009- Burbank, CA) La-La Land Records will release the soundtrack for TRICK R TREAT on September 29, 2009. The critically-acclaimed film, which was written and directed by Michael Dougherty and produced by Bryan Singer, features original score by Douglas Pipes (MONSTER HOUSE). The film marks Doughertys directorial debut, and stars Anna Paquin (TRUE BLOOD), Dylan Baker (SPIDER-MAN), Brian Cox (X2: X-MEN UNITED), Tahmoh Penikett (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) and Leslie Bibb (IRON MAN). There were numerous delays in getting the movie off the ground, but that allowed Dougherty to secure Douglas Pipes as the composer. He describes, Like myself, Douglas was a newcomer to the industry, but he made one hell of an entrance with his score for 2006s MONSTER HOUSE. Ill never forget watching that movie, bobbing my head to the music, and thinking to myself Holy crap, who IS this guy?! It was mischievous but scary, fun yet foreboding. It was like hearing Elfman or Goldsmith for the first time, and I was hooked. When I first spoke to Michael about Trick 'R Treat, his love of film music was quite infectious, said Pipes. We chatted about our favorite horror films and why they worked for us the way they did. The more we talked the more excited I became. He wanted to make a classic Halloween fright night movie, and when I saw the film I was even more excited - it was pure, genuine Halloween horror.... and it was fun! Michael's enthusiasm for my music and great instincts really helped in creating this score. MONSTER HOUSE also earned Pipes national attention and several nominations for awards including a Saturn Awards nomination for Best Music, International Film Critics Association Award nomination for Best New Composer and a nomination as Composer Discovery from the World Soundtrack Awards. His credits also include composing score for the film GRANDPA and writing additional music for CITY OF EMBER. TRICK R TREAT is a collection of creepy stories that mixes fun with fear, candy with poison, and laughter with screams. In the tradition of CREEPSHOW and TALES FROM THE CRYPT comes four interwoven tales set on Halloween night: a high school principal who moonlights as a vicious serial killer, a young virgin whose quest for that special someone takes a gruesome turn, a group of teens who carry out a cruel prank with disastrous consequences, and a cantankerous old man who battles a mischievous trick-or-treating demon. Warner Bros. Pictures presents TRICK R TREAT, available on DVD, Blu-Ray and digitally on October 6, 2009. The La-La Land Records original soundtrack will be available in-stores and at www.lalalandrecords.com on September 29, 2009.

TAKING WOODSTOCK (Sept 22, 2009- Burbank, CA) La-La Land Records will release the original score album of TAKING WOODSTOCK on September 29, 2009. The film features original score by Danny Elfman (MILK, MEN IN BLACK). Over the past 25 years, Los Angeles native and resident Danny Elfman has established himself as one of films leading composers. His collaborations with director Gus Van Sant on Milk and Good Will Hunting brought Mr. Elfman Academy Award® nominations; he has been nominated twice more, for Barry Sonnenfelds Men in Black and Tim Burtons Big Fish. The latter also earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination. Movie audiences worldwide have heard the composers unique sound and style with some 60 film scores. His signature scores include ones for Tim Burtons Pee-Wees Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, among their many movies together; Henry Selicks The Nightmare Before Christmas, which brought Mr. Elfman his first Golden Globe Award nomination; Sam Raimis Spider-Man; Taylor Hackfords Dolores Claiborne; Martin Brests Midnight Run; Jon Amiels Sommersby; the Hughes Brothers Dead Presidents; and Rob Marshalls Academy Award-winning Chicago. Taking Woodstock is the new film from Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee and its a trip! Based on the memoirs of Elliot Tiber, the comedy stars Demetri Martin as Elliot, who inadvertently played a role in making 1969s Woodstock Music and Arts Festival into the famed happening it was. Working as an interior designer in Greenwich Village, Elliot feels empowered by the gay rights movement. But he is also still staked to the family business a dumpy Catskills motel called the El Monaco that is being run into the ground by his overbearing parents, Jake and Sonia Teichberg (Henry Goodman and Imelda Staunton). In the summer of 1969, Elliot has to move back upstate to the El Monaco in order to help save the motel from being taken over by the bank. Upon hearing that a planned music and arts festival has lost its permit from the neighboring town of Wallkill, NY, Elliot calls producer Michael Lang (Jonathan Groff) at Woodstock Ventures to offer his familys motel to the promoters and generate some much-needed business. Elliot also introduces Lang to his neighbor Max Yasgur (Eugene Levy), who operates a 600-acre dairy farm down the road. Soon the Woodstock staff is moving into the El Monaco and half a million people are on their way to Yasgurs farm for 3 days of Peace & Music in White Lake. With a little help from his friends, including theater troupe leader Devon (Dan Fogler), recently returned Vietnam veteran Billy (Emile Hirsch), and cross-dressing ex-Marine Vilma (Liev Schreiber) and with a little opposition from townspeople, including Billys brother Dan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Elliot finds himself swept up in a generation-defining experience that would change his life and popular culture forever. A Focus Features presentation of an Ang Lee film, TAKING WOODSTOCK will be in theaters on August 28, 2009. La-La Land Records presents TAKING WOODSTOCK ORIGINAL SCORE available in-stores and at www.lalalandrecords.com on September 29, 2009.

This unlikely pair started at odds; he thinking her a stylish minx, she unimpressed by literature in general. It was the illness of Keatss younger brother that drew them together. Keats was touched by Fannys efforts to help and agreed to teach her poetry. By the time Fannys alarmed mother and Keatss best friend Brown (Paul Schneider) realized their attachment, the relationship had an unstoppable momentum. Intensely and helplessly absorbed in each other, the young lovers were swept into powerful new sensations, I have the feeling as if I were dissolving, Keats wrote to her. Disney's A Christmas Carol Walt Disney Records will release the digital soundtrack for Disney's A Christmas Carol, composed by Alan Silvestri on November 3, 2009. Andrea Bocelli performs "God Bless Us Everyone," penned by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard. The film is a multi-sensory thrill ride re-envisioned by Academy Award winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis who captures the essence of the classic Dickens tale in a groundbreaking 3D motion picture event. Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) begins the Christmas holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his faithful clerk (Gary Oldman) and his cheery nephew (Colin Firth). Scrooge later encounters the ghost of his dead business partner Jacob Marley, who's paying the price in the afterlife for his own callousness. Marley hopes to help Scrooge avoid a similar fate and tells him he will be visited by three spirits. But when the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come, take Old Scrooge on an eye-opening journey revealing truths he's reluctant to face, he must open his heart to undo years of ill before it's too late. Director Robert Zemeckis didn't have to contemplate who he'd call on to score the music for Disney's A Christmas Carol - composer Alan Silvestri was his first choice. "Alan and I have a long working relationship that spans 25 years," says Zemeckis. The two began working together on Zemeckis' film Romancing the Stone. They continued to collaborate with films including the Back to the Future series, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the Oscar-winning Forrest Gump (for which Silvestri received an Academy Award-nomination for Best Score), Contact, What Lies Beneath, Cast Away, Beowulf and the spectacular Christmas fantasy The Polar Express. The song "Believe," performed by Josh Groban, which Silvestri co-wrote with Glen Ballard, was nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Original Song category and won a Grammy Award for Best Song for a Motion Picture. For Disney's A Christmas Carol, Zemeckis and Silvestri employed the same, collaborative process they've used for every movie. "Like always," says Zemeckis, "I asked Alan to underscore the emotion of all the scenes." Silvestri's classical score was recorded by a 103-piece orchestra in Los Angeles. "It's a dynamic, powerful score," says producer Jack Rapke. "It's gentle when it needs to be gentle and powerful when it needs to be powerful." Silvestri teamed up with Glen Ballard to create the perfect song to cap the film. "God Bless Us Everyone," an original song inspired by the film's famous line delivered by Tiny Tim at the end of the movie, was recorded by none other than Andrea Bocelli, who recorded the song in English, Spanish and Italian. Says Zemeckis: "Bocelli heard the wonderful song composed by Glen Ballard and Alan Silvestri and immediately decided he wanted to record it. I think the song will be a Christmas classic." "God Bless Us Everyone" aptly captures the spirit of the film, says Bocelli. "It's a sweet and majestic song with a pleasantly surprising evocative power which suffuses our senses and tells us about the triumph of forgiveness and redemption." The Walt Disney Records A Christmas Carol - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be available digitally on November 3, 2009. Walt Disney Pictures and ImageMovers Digital present Disney's A Christmas Carol in theaters on November 8, 2009.
