Anyone looking forward to watching the new show Reunion on FOX? I know I am. I recently received the opportunity to see a long premiere video for it. I have to say, that I wouldn't have even thought about watching this show until I saw the preview.
It's about 6 friends. One friend is murdered in the present time. Apparently the murder has something to do with the past of the friends. Each episode represents one year in the life of these characters. The concept sounds a tad strange...no stranger than 24's concept of each episode spanning one hour in a day. But seeing the promo and its very dramatic flair convinced me. Especially since one of the last scenes in the promo was of a detective interviewing a person and asking her to tell him what she could remember of the year 1987. We see the flash of a loaded pistol. Then the interviewee states that the year started off with a bang. And we see and hear the pistol being fired. Nice way to end a promo! I'll check out the first eppy on September 8th and see if I want to continue watching.

Yeah, baby. I'm getting that recordable cable box just so I don't have to miss shows like that. It looks interesting, but I don't know if i'll have time anymore. It good to see networks taking a chance on more out-of-the-box shows. If it does well, I'll say I was one of the few people who was one board with this breakthrough show from the beginning.

I can't wait to check out this new and innovative series! I hope that it doesn't get clipped by Fox early, as Fox tends to do. *crossing my fingers*

Why should they clip it? It's obviously only good for one season anyways! I don't think they can do a lot with this show after one season. But that is a good thing. They should have more shows like that on television. It could spur some new creativity and not lock actors into longterm contracts, even possibly attracting bigger names to shows they know they will only have to be a part of for one season. I am looking forward to a lot of shows this year and this is definitely one of them.

Nobody thought they coulud do alot with Lost either, but it's on it's second season. But nowadays, the networks don't really give shows a chance to prove themselves. Only time...or lack of it...will tell.

Okay, caught the premiere episode of Reunion the other day. The episode was slow as they were attempting to get us familiarized with all of the characters.
The character of Aaron is truly annoying to me and I haven't a clue why I dislike him so much. Maybe it's the grin and the way he talks out of the side of his mouth. I dunno. And Craig, well, he's like this Tom Cruise look-a-like that can't seem to keep on the straight and narrow...the bad boy of the show. Not liking him much either. I'm actually rooting for his girlfriend to get back with Will.
However, there are some parts of this episode that will keep me coming back for more. For one thing, we still don't know which friend was murdered. The only one we know is alive is Clara. And I like the story as it is told by Clara. I like the fact that we learn a little bit about each character through the years. And I am still intrigued by the year per episode. Can't wait for episode 2.

I thought the rich kid reminded me so much of Kelso from That 70's Show when it first started without the stupidity. I think Will is like their Ryan of OC on the show. The tough kid with a heart. They have that Seth character in Aaron although he is nearly not as funny or compelling. They even got their girl from OC. She has been on three shows in three years on FOX. They must like her. She is actually the hottest on the show in terms of sex appeal. I think Clara is pretty cool and we know she is alive. Each episode will probably eliminate one potential victim. I can't wait to figure out who dies, but in a funny way, I think either Aaron will be the killer or victim. He seems so much without the drama, that he would be the perfect victim or killer.
I like the concept of the show. It is moving slow at first, but at the same time, they set us up for the rest of the season in one episode which is pretty good. I think the show will pick up as it goes on, as they drop more clues. I heard they do not plan to have another season with the same characters. So, I think they will wrap up this season, which should make each episode so much more entertaining when we know it will lead to a real conclusion.

Warning!!! Spoilers ahead! So if you haven't seen the second episode of Reunion, don't read this post! - - - - - - - - - - - - This second episode was interesting. We got to see 1987. And we got to see the cool exterior of Carla crack wide open after realizing she "said too much" to the detective investigating the case. Life after prison wasn't hunkey dorey for Will. And Sam's discovers that her decision to give up her child for adoption may not have been the right one. But perhaps most shocking was the revelation of Will's future life. He's a PRIEST!!!! I couldn't believe it!! I love the way they have kept the murdered friend a secret. We still do not know who was murdered, but we are getting bits and pieces each week. We can cross Carla and Will off the list for now. I wonder if they will reveal the next living character in the next episode, or if they'll string us along for a couple of episodes. I'm starting to lean toward Sam or Craig as being the one that was killed. After watching the episode a second time, I noticed that when Carla commented to Jenna about how weird it was to realize that decisions you make today can have an effect on you 20 years from now, Jenna said something that can be looked at as possible foreshadowing. She said something like - Who thinks that far ahead? I'll probably be dead in another 20 years. Hmmmmm...

After watching several episodes, I think that the murderer may not be one of the friends at all. It seems that they have come together to protect someone from taking the fall for Sam's murder. I'm starting to believe that it would be a perfect plot twist if that someone was Amy, Sam's daughter, who would be a teenager by the time the murder occured. Anybody else have any thoughts?

They're cancelling Reunion! FOX is only planning on airing 13 episodes, which means we will never know the identity of the murderer. We'll never know how the show is to end! A valiant attempt is being made to save the show. Click here to sign the petition: new.petitiononline.com/41089/petition.html . Hopefully we can get a full season's worth of episodes at the very least.

I have a feeling that no matter what, we will find out the killer whether the show gets renewed for the rest of the season or whether they shoot the rest of the series knowing that the DVD will make more money because of its suddent cancellation

All I know is this - certain shows don't even get a chance anymore. And other shows, like that retarded Joey - get more than enough chances. Thank God they finally cancelled that one!

Now I am pissed off, I can't believe that those bone heads at Fox cancelled Reunion, it was a show with a ton of potential. They put it one of the lousiest time slots on TV, against way too many powerhouse shows and they were shocked that the ratings weren't there, color me suprised, DUH!!! Now I will never know who the killer was. At least finish up the season or bring the rest of the season to DVD and finish it that way. What a bunch of morons.

But OC is on the same channel and on the same day and up against a strong lineup and it continues to do well in the ratings. It's still considered a hot show and it makes tons of money for Fox.

The difference between the OC and Reunion is that Reunion had an original premise. These days, original premises die on network TV with a few rare exceptions.
