Beginning in April 2006, The History Channel will air a 10-hour documentary entitled "10 Days That Unexpectedly Changed America." The series will forgoe the more obvious choices, such as Pearl Harbor, and will instead focus on more subtle events, such as a letter written by Albert Einstein to President Roosevelt that spurred on the research going into the making of the atomic bomb. It inadvertantly brought about the beginning of The Manhattan Project and later, the invention of the bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Such small, seemingly minor events have led to major changes in the lives of Americans. The show is bound to be very enlightening.
