Read them all. I believe everyone should take a look. Go to www.g-pop.net for the latest recap of the 2005 to 2006 television schedule. Now, while I agreed with a lot of them, I was upset to see some names mentioned that didn't deserve to be hated on.
1. Prison Break: You can't diss a show you never watch. Any premise can be dissected to bits, but if a television show takes that weak premise and actually makes you forget how weak it is with great acting, awesome suspense and fantastic pacing, then it is still a good show. I watched Prison Break and was instantly hooked. The characters are what make the show so good. My older sister probably never watches the show, but if I am watching it, I notice her taking peaks, taking an interest, because even though she doesn't know what is going on, the show traps you in and leaves you wanting more. I mean, Jack Bauer saves the world in 24 hours once a season in inexplicable storylines, but the audience keeps growing and a major motion picture is about to be made. The show is just exciting and fun to watch and it makes you forget the ridiculuous.
2. My Name is Earl: Awesome show. You can have your opinion on this. At least the show was viewed. But I disagree and that's what makes the world such a cool place. And I will tell you why I disagree. The show is a fresh comedy. It is something very different. And many times, the show is actually quite endearing. I will say that I can't see them keeping up the premise for long, but for this season, I thoroughly enjoyed what I saw. It is not often that you can make a show endearing wehn dealing with some very distateful subject matter, which make up a lot of the bad things Earl did that he needs to fix.
3. Smallville got so much better this year. It lost its way last year with the witch, but the death of Clark's father was a shock. The Lex Luthor It's a Wonderful Life episode was really kick ass. The full turn of Lex to villian where he doesn't even realize he's a villian is just so well written, it is not even funny. The strange redemption storyline following Lionel Luthor is interesting. The Zod thing was weak, but seeing James Marsters on the show was great and watching Clark struggle with how his identity will affect his love life id just a great storyline. Last year's witch angle and the search for the keys was wack. This year, the writing got back on track and is better than ever. Being that Smallville is based on a comic book hero that had a dog named Krypto that can fly and had some ridiculous storylines in its own right and movies that were laughable at best along with a cartoon that was a joke at certain points, I think Smallville is still pretty damn good television.
That's all though. Love Battlestar Glactica. Love How I Met Your Mother. Can't watch Stargate without getting sick these days. Just needed to express my views. I hope others do the same.
