The Art of Star Wars exhibit will be held in Singapore from November 19, 2005 until April 3, 2006. The following is an excerpt from the exhibit website:
"The Art of Star Wars is an exhibition of galactic proportions.
Occupying over 3,000 square metres of space and comprising 280 original artifacts from Lucasfilm Ltd, the exhibition aims to bring visitors into the fantasy worlds of the Star Wars movie saga and to take a close look at the amazing, creative and innovative works in the making of the movies.
Segmented into 6 main areas, visitors will be taken on a journey through time, from the very first movie in 1977 called A New Hope to the finale Episode III Revenge of the Sith in 2005. Visitors will be able to come face-to-face with various artifacts used in the making of the movies.
Ranging from life-sized models, sets, costumes, marquettes, weapons, props, concept drawings, posters and more, visitors will also be able to view several multi-media screens, footages of the movies where the artifacts were used, as well as footages of documentaries chronicling the work behind the making of the movies.
With an emphasis on the recent movie Episode III The Revenge of the Sith, a large section of the exhibition will be dedicated to displaying the “never-been-seen” exhibits from the latest finale movie. Included in these would be iconic life-sized items such as the surgical table of Darth Vader as well as the birthing table of Padme Amidala.
A special 300-seat movie theatre area will be screening a series of “The Making Of” documentaries from all 6 movies. This is to provide visitors with a complete look at the immensity of the works for such blockbuster productions."
