Every week, G-POP.net strives to bring you a variety of entertainment. Here's what's new for this week:
Soulware - Ismael Manzano reviews the sequel to The Tels, a science fiction novel by Paul Black.
Excerpt: "When Id first agreed to write reviews for g-pop, Id done so, fully expecting never to review a sequel, mostly because I wanted to only showcase a different author each time. However, this posed a problem. Id read so many great books that offered sequels, that I had to put aside my own desire to follow a favorite character or world in order to have time to read newer material. Well, those days are over. Ive finally broken down. I was introduced to the writings of Paul Black through an associate at g-pop.net, in the form of a novel called the Tels. Anyone who has read that review will know what I thought about that novel. So it should be no surprise to them that I chose to review the sequel, Soulware, as quickly as I could."
The Wild - Melissa Minners reviews the latest animated film from Walt Disney.
Excerpt: "When I saw the preview for The Wild, I was instantly taken in by the films adorable cast of characters the koala in particular. The movie seemed funny in a not-so-childish sort of way, quite like Hoodwinked and Shrek. The story sounded familiar daddy lion and his zoo friends resolve to save his cub from whoever has mysteriously carted him off. However, several of the previews were so funny and made the movie so appealing, my friend and I resolved to see it as soon as it hit the theaters."
Remarkable Manhattan Theater Group Brings a "Shot" of Opera to At-Risk Kids - A feature article by Justine Manzano about The Real Theater Brigade and their latest show - "Shot".
Excerpt: "Any creative person can tell you that ideas can come from the strangest places. A song, a smell, a true-life event. For Christian McLeer, Monica Harte and Dan Jeselsohn, the story for their opera company, The Remarkable Theater Brigade's latest, opera came from a newspaper article. The article was about a child killed in street violence. As they discussed the incident, it involved into a story about street violence itself, and "Shot" was born. With a combination of McLeer's music and the drama of Tanying Dong, "Shot" has now come alive, and the show opens on May 5th."
Animation Runner Kuromi 2 - Jon Minners reviews the latest anime distributed by Central Park Media.
Excerpt: "Kuromi is back and more determined than ever to make it in the anime business. But all hell breaks loose when one of the bosses quits smoking just when the workload bursts out of control. If thats not enough, she has three animators looking to slip out of work early armed with excuses each day and one animator with an ego and drive, but absolutely no skills. Add to that the new producer and his hack team of animators that look at deadlines before quality and Kuromis back is up against the wall having to complete three quality series for the network with so many obstacles in her way. Can she meet her deadlines? And if she does, will she want to do it all over again?"
Brad Aiken - A Rising Star Feature article by Melissa Minners about the up and coming science fiction author, Brad Aiken.
Excerpt:"Dr. Brad Aiken is a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has been the Medical Director for Rehabilitation at Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida since 1989. Although medicine is his chosen profession, Brad Aiken has yet another passion science fiction. His first, short story, The Instant, caught the eye of his college professor at Boston University, and Aiken was encouraged to publish the tale. However, Aiken chose not to publish the tale, pursuing other interests. Several years later, Aiken became absorbed in his writing anew and there was no turning back."

Minners Commentary Corner: Things You Never Forget XII: Get a Job: "I just coasted through life sure that everything will be taken care of, born with a personality of preppy kids with silver spoons in their mouths who believe mommy and daddy will take care of everything. The only different between me and them was that they were right. Mommy and daddy would buy them a new car and mommy and daddy would pay for their education. Me, I was not so fortunate. You will never read a review for this movie with my name or any name that sounds similar to it in this or any other website. Would you like to know why?
