Each and every week at G-POP.net, we strive to bring you a tremendous variety of entertainment. Here's what's new for this week's issue:
Eyes Everywhere - Justine Manzano reviews the horror novel by Matthew Warner.
Excerpt: "This would be the third time I have reviewed a book by Matthew Warner. His first published novel, The Organ Donor, was reviewed by me for the website www.ybfree.com. His next release, a collection of short stories entitled Death Sentences: Tales of Punishment and Revenge, was the perfect transition piece for my newly started career at this website. Both were brilliantly crafted works of horror fiction. So, naturally, when Warner approached me about his latest release, Eyes Everywhere, I jumped at the chance to work with him once again. Eyes Everywhere was just as brilliant."
Batgirl: Year One - Melissa Minners reviews the trade paperback from DC Comics.
Excerpt: "All Barbara Gordon has ever wanted was a career in law enforcement. Throughout her life, she would try just about anything and everything to achieve that goal. Against the growing criticism and seemingly insurmountable odds, Barbara Gordon strove to reach the unattainable. Unable to become a law enforcement agent in any official capacity, Barbara gave up looking for a legitimate way of attaining her dream. Instead, she entered the world of the nighttime vigilante and proved her worth fighting the criminals of the underworld alongside the likes of Batman and Robin. Batgirl: Year One is a trade paperback combining issues 1-9 of the 2003 comic series of the same name. This series provides a new take on the origins of the original Batgirl..."
Rapping Reverend Releases Third Hip Hop CD - Jon Minners discusses the latest CD release from The Bronx's own Rapping Reverend Father Stan Fortuna.
Excerpt: "Would you dare to compare and become aware/How the poison from the world is your deepest nightmare/Yall can upgrade your computer with the latest software/Still wont have the power in you to keep you hangin in there/Too many people caught in the cultural snare; wanna be a millionaire/All the dough from my CDs go to the poor to help em get off welfareThe song, Hanging in There, is from the latest CD entitled Sacro Song 3. Catchy enough to be heard on any mainstream Hip Hop station, listeners may actually find it surprising to discover that the words and the entire CD come from the Bronx own Rapping Reverend."
Hollow Man 2 - Ismael Manzano reviews the straight-to-DVD sequel of Hollow Man.
Excerpt: "I came across this straight to DVD movie the other day while trolling through the video store for something to watch. I was drawn, not to a promising sequel of a movie that I lovedbecause I didnt like the first Hollow Man that muchnor was I lured into renting the movie because of its cant-fail premise, but rather because the cover of the DVD looked cool. It showcased what looked to be two invisible men fighting in the rain with what I mistakenly took to be Capoeria movesthere was no CapoeriaBrazilian martial artsin this movie, but by the time Id figured that out, I had already rented the movie."

Image Comics, the popular independent company rivaling Marvel and DC in terms of popularity and the creators of such series as Spawn and Savage Dragon, is about to present a brand new mini-series this September, entitled Cross Bronx."
Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales - Melissa Minners reviews the latest CD from the Celtic Renaissance Musicians, the Brobdingnagian Bards.

The computer geekwell, he was busy doing whatever it is that computer geeks do. Then, one day, the musicians rock band was no more and the musician, known to all as Marc Gunn, decided to learn how to play the autoharp. Knowing that his computer geek friend - otherwise known as Andrew McKee - also dabbled with musical instruments, Gunn decided to ask McKee to join him in his endeavor to create a musical album. He invited McKee to join him and they became the Brobdingnagian Bards..."

Minners Commentary Corner: Is That a Fly in My Ice Cream? - "I worked at Carvel for six years and it was the time of my life. I went from worker to manager to a big time pain in the ass to my boss.
