Each and every week at G-POP.net, we strive to bring you a tremendous variety of entertainment. Here's what's new for this week's issue:
The Devil Wears Prada - Justine Manzano reviews the movie based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger, starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
Excerpt: "It took me over a month to get to see The Devil Wears Prada, but I finally got to it. I was hyped to see it, but somehow, life got in the waythankfully not for long enough to make me unsuccessful in my task. The movie contained many actors whom I personally love and it was fun going with the diverse mix of people that I went with. For one, there was me, the technical movie viewer, my husband Ismael, (if youve read his column ever, youd know what he was like), and my fashion conscious best friend, Joy, who is pretty no-nonsense about what she wants in a movie. I knew just from my co-viewers that there was no way this movie could be dull. Either we would love it or we would make fun of it...a lot."
Fan Fiction Revisited: The Writers and Readers Speak Out - Melissa Minners returns to the fan fiction genre and gives the writers and readers a chance to voice their own opinions.
Excerpt: "Some time ago, I wrote an article about fan fiction and how this what if form of entertainment has expanded over the years with the popularity of the worldwide internet. In The Expanding World of Fan Fiction, the art of fan fiction was described and the reasons for considering fan fiction a form of entertainment were explored. In this follow-up article, I would like to give writers and readers of fan fiction a chance to have their say on the art. To that end, I visited message boards, asking for fan fiction writers and readers input. Heres what they had to say:.."
Murphy's Lore: Bartender of the Gods - Jon Minners reviews a new addition to the Murphy's Lore series by Patrick Thomas.
Excerpt: "There is a belief that when you continue to put out one great product after another; each one surpassing the previous edition, that eventually, there will be a point when you slip, even if just a little. Sadly, this is how I felt as I read the latest entry in the Murphys Lore series, Bartender of the Gods. Never disappointing me, Patrick Thomas has continuously one-upped himself every step of he way, reeling me in with Fools Day, continuing the streak with the entertaining Through the Drinking Glass, exciting me with Shadow of the Wolf and thoroughly mesmerizing me with Redemption Road, the previous entry in the series that had me frothing at the mouth waiting for the latest installment."
Rodgers & Hammersteins South Pacific In Concert From Carnegie Hall - Melissa Minners reviews the soundtrack of a performance of South Pacific at Carnegie Hall, starring Reba McEntire.
Excerpt: "The musical, South Pacific, was created by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II in 1949, inspired by the novel Tales of the South Pacific by James A. Michener. The musical is set in the Pacific stage of World War II and tells the story of a Navy ensign who meets and falls in love with a French planter. Although South Pacific is an extremely popular musical, it is rarely revived. In June, 2005, a special one night benefit performance of South Pacific took place at Carnegie Hall, starring Reba McEntire, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Alec Baldwin. The concert was aired in its entirety on PBS and the soundtrack released by Decca Broadway on April, 2006."
Hex and the City - Ismael Manzano reviews the supernatural novel by Simon R. Green.
Excerpt: "Those of you who have followed my reviews will know that Hex and the City is the fourth book in the series of the Nightside, written by Simon R. Green. Since beginning the series one mystery has been dangled in front of the reader like a juicy morsel, teasing us, keeping usor at least mehungry for a larger bite: who is John Taylors mother. In this book, the answer is given.
Life As A House - Melissa Minners reviews the DVD version of the dramedy starring Kevin Kline and Hayden Christensen.
Excerpt: "What would you do if you were told you only have three months to live? That is the question asked by main character George Monroe in the movie Life As A House. Ironically, the movie is not about death, but about life."
Random Acts of Ismael and Badseed's Bottomline are all new:

And since Im gonna bees a learned man, I figured I should take this time to offer some of my diehard fan out there a little bit of sagely advicesince I am now in a position to say I know everything there is to know in the world."
Badseed's Bottomline #385: Top 10 DVDs the WWE Has to Make - "Hey yo! I write this from beautiful Miami, Florida. It has been a really, really long time since I wrote a Badseeds Bottomline from out of New York. The last time I did, I was in Arizona and The Acolytes were dominating the tag-team scene and Rikishi was still very popular. The year before that, I had written my column from Canada when Chris Jericho debuted on Raw in the infamous confrontation with The Rock. Anyways, so I havent watched wrestling and I thought to myself, what can I write about? So, I decided to write about DVDs. They bring me back in time to when I first started enjoying wrestling. But, there are just some DVDs that the WWE hasnt touched and that need to be made. I compiled a list of 10 most wanted DVDs on my list."
