Bring Out the Sound System: The West Indian Roots of Hip Hop is a celebration of the West Indian influences of the hip hop sound of today.
The event will take place on February 29, 2009 from 3PM - 6PM at The Point CDC at 940 Garrison Avenue, Bronx, New York.
Kool DJ Herc, Kool DJ & Red Alert, MC Just-Ice and Ralph McDaniels of Video Music Box will participate in the event.
Discussions will include the contributions of DJ Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash and other influential hip hop artists of Caribbean heritage.
