BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK (July 15, 2008- Burbank, CA) La-La Land Records will release the soundtrack for BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT on July 29. The animated feature will be released on DVD on July 8, prior to the release of the new film in the Batman series The Dark Knight. Composers Kevin Manthei (Justice League: The New Frontier), Robert J. Kral (Superman: Doomsday) and Christopher Drake (Hellboy Animated). BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT is a fresh and exciting new entry into the Batman mythos, spinning out of a 40-year history in animation including the Emmy® winning Batman: The Animated Series, widely considered a pivotal point in American animation. Six interlocking stories reveal Bruce Waynes earliest adventures as Batman and the steps he took to become the grim avenger of Gotham City. Three different DVD packages will be released, a single DVD, a 2-disc collectors edition, and the 2-disc collectors edition on Blu-Ray DVD To tell the six different stories, the executive producer turned to 3 composers: Kevin Manthei, Robert J. Kral and Christopher Drake. Our producer, Bruce Timms idea was to have the music be as unique and different as the visual style of each segment, Drake describes. The three of us were sequestered from each other, allowing each of us complete creative freedom. Christopher Drake was selected by Academy Award® nominated film director Guillermo del Toro to compose the music for two animated films Hellboy: Sword of Storms and Hellboy: Blood and Iron. Drake also scored the upcoming game Hellboy: The Science of Evil. Based on his work on the Hellboy movies producer Bruce Timm hired Drake to score two of the six BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT segments. Drakes segments include Have I Got A Story for You, and In Darkness Dwells, which was written by David Goyer, who co-wrote the screenplays for Batman Begins and the upcoming film The Dark Knight. In addition to Drake, Timm turned to two composers with whom he had previously worked Kevin Manthei (Justice League: The New Frontier, soundtrack available on La-La Land Records) and Robert J. Kral (Superman: Doomsday, soundtrack available on La-La Land Records). Kevin Manthei has been working in the film, television and game arena for over 15 years. He has worked as the series composer on five animated TV shows including Invader Zim, Xiaolin Showdown, and Johnny Test representing over 130 half hour episodes, composed over 50 game soundtracks, including the recent releases of Marvel Universe Online & Kung Fu Panda, has made a mark composing music for animated features, independent films, as well as contributing additional music on many well-known feature films. Manthei scored the segments Crossfire and Working Through Pain. His two segments are completely different from each other the former an east-meets-west score and the latter telling an emotional story as Wayne went on a soul-searching trip to India. Manthei describes, The angularity and oddness of the animation [in Crossfire] gave me freedom to go further than I usually dare to go. With this episode I really felt it needed to be organically electronic and that is should have some sort of repeating loop like electronic pulse that just forwards on the dread and unease of the episode. For Working Through Pain, Manthei incorporated Indian instruments into his score. Robert J. Kral is no stranger to writing themes for characters battling evil. For five seasons, Kral contributed the score for the TV series Angel. The Australian film and TV composer also composed the scores for the TV series The Dresden Files, Jake 2.0 and Miracles. He earned an Annie Award for Best Music in an Animated Television Production for his work on Duck Dodgers. Field Test and Deadshot were both scored by Kral. Field Test was more of a traditional superhero story and Kral created a score with a more recognizable feel. Deadshot is the segment that ties the others together. I realized, he said, one of the things that makes this project so unusual, so unique, is that each segment deals with the same hero, but with a different approach, so in the end, I really wanted to score it with new music, with different themes and motifs. Warner Bros. Video presents BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT available on DVD and Blu Ray on July 8th. The BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be available in stores or from www.lalalandrecords.com on July 29, 2008.

TROPIC THUNDER (July 29, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack for TROPIC THUNDER, available via iTunes and in stores on August 5. The soundtrack contains original music composed by Theodore “Teddy” Shapiro (Blades of Glory, The Devil Wears Prada). Teddy Shapiro is a composer for film, television and the concert stage. BBC Music Magazine, in 1997, said of Shapiro, “At 25, he's had performances at Carnegie Hall and on MTV — part of the new group of composers who can work in both places.” Shapiro received his B.A. in music from Brown University and his Masters from the famed Julliard School of Music. His concert works have been performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York and by the L.A. Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, The Milwaukee Symphony, the NY Chamber Orchestra, and the Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra. Teddy Shapiro has developed a special knack for composing music for comedy. In 1993 he began scoring for the acclaimed TV series The State. He has also composed for the comedy films Not Another Teen Movie, 13 Going on 30, Fun With Dick And Jane, The Devil Wears Prada, You, Me and Dupree, Idiocracy, and Blades of Glory. TROPIC THUNDER is an action comedy about a group of self-absorbed actors who set out to make the biggest war film ever. After ballooning costs (and the out of control egos of the pampered cast) threaten to shut down the movie, the frustrated director refuses to stop shooting, leading his cast deep into the jungles of Southeast Asia for “increased realism,” where they inadvertently encounter real bad guys. Ben Stiller plays pampered action superstar Tugg Speedman, who is cast in the biggest, most expensive war movie ever produced. He sets out to Southeast Asia with a "Who's Who" of celebrity co-stars --include Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr.), an intense, three-time Oscar®-winning actor who decides to go black for the role; Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), star of the popular gross-out comedy franchise "The Fatties"; multi-platinum hip-hop-star-turned-actor Alpa Chino (Brandon T. Jackson); and newcomer Kevin Sandusky (Jay Baruchel). Dreamworks Pictures present TROPIC THUNDER in theaters on August 15, 2008. TROPIC THUNDER original soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available via iTunes and in stores on August 5.

TEEN TITANS: TROUBLE IN TOKYO ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK (July 15, 2008- Burbank, CA) La-La Land Records will release the soundtrack for TEEN TITANS: TROUBLE IN TOKYO on July 29. Cartoon Networks Teen Titans series airs around the world. TROUBLE IN TOKYO was a direct-to-video film released on DVD in 2007. The music was composed by the Emmy® winning team Dynamic Music Partners. Dynamic Music Partners are a three-person team of composers Michael McCuistion, Lolita Ritmanis, and Kristopher Carter. Lolita Ritmanis is a nine time Emmy Award®-nominated composer, having won in 2002 for her work on the animated series Batman Beyond. She is currently working on The Spectacular Spider-Man and Ben 10: Alien Force. Lolita has worked as an orchestrator for composers Michael Kamen, Basil Poledouris, Mark Snow and Shirley Walker, on over 100 films, mini-series and television programs, including Lethal Weapon 4, X-Files Movie, Swimfan, Robin Hood-Prince of Thieves, Final Destination and The West Wing. Michael McCuistion is an Emmy® Award-winning composer who has been working in film and television for over 15 years. Nominated for nine Emmy Awards® and two Annie® Awards, he has also composed and conducted the music for the Oscar-winning short film My Mother Dreams The Satans Disciples In New York, Activisions Spider-Man: The Movie Game and Spider-Man 2: The Game which were released simultaneously with both blockbuster motion pictures. McCuistion is currently composing for The Spectacular Spider-Man and Ben 10: Alien Force. Kristopher Carter began his career as one of the youngest composers to work for Warner Bros. He received an Emmy Award® for Batman Beyond, as well as six other Emmy® nominations. His fifteen independent feature films have screened at many prestigious international festivals. He made his Hollywood Bowl debut in 2001 with a commission from John Mauceri and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. In the record world he has collaborated with the Wallflower's Rami Jaffee and blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd. When a high-tech ninja from the Far East attacks Titans Tower, Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy spring into action and bring him down. But when Robin finds out the ninja was sent by a mysterious and menacing Japanese criminal known as Brushogun ... our heroes realize that the action isn't over -- it's just getting started. So the Titans pack their bags, hop in the T-Ship, and take off for Tokyo on a mission to track down Brushogun -- and bring him to justice. But can our teenage heroes stay out of trouble in the City That Never Blinks? And can Robin solve the mystery of Brushogun before our villain takes down the Titans -- and destroys everything Robin is? The composers commented, Since this journey would be grander in scope than the weekly series, we knew our score would need to reflect that. Watching the characters explore their new surroundings, experience an unfamiliar culture and learn things about each other along the way (with occasional tributes to Japanese monster movies!) all provided a wonderful environment for musical inspiration. Lolita, Kris and Michael did such an amazing job creating and crafting such original music for such a wonderful score. Without them the pictures would seem very lifeless and dull, said producer Glen Murakami. The TEEN TITANS: TROUBLE IN TOKYO Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be available in stores or from www.lalalandrecords.com on July 29, 2008.

SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2 Soundtrack to highly anticipated summer sequel features a brand-new original song from Michelle Branch and music from Cyndi Lauper, Hot Hot Heat, Missy Higgins, and Eric Hutchinson July 22, 2008 Burbank, CA Warner Bros. Records will release the original soundtrack to Alcon Entertainment and Alloy Entertainments new film THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2, on August 5th, one day before the movie, hits theaters nationwide. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 Soundtrack features music by Cyndi Lauper, Missy Higgins, Craig David, Hot Hot Heat and Eric Hutchinson, whose song "Rock & Roll" will be the first single off the album. The soundtrack contains one original track, a previously unreleased song by Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Michelle Branch, who was inspired to write her contribution, Together, after seeing a cut of the film. Michelle reached out to us early in the process as she was interested in writing a song; while her label, Warner Bros. Records, was releasing the soundtrack, says the films music supervisor Julia Michels. It was very organic how the music picture came together. Michelle wrote the perfect song for the end titles, and a number of other artists on Warner Bros. Records also worked well on the soundtrack for the film. The movie has wonderful music that serves the film brilliantly. Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel reunite onscreen in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 as the lifelong best friends audiences fell in love with three years ago. Based on Ann Brashares best-selling series of novels about four young women who share an unbreakable bond through the unpredictable events of their lives, the new story catches up with Tibby, Carmen, Bridget and Lena in the summer following their first year of college. On separate paths now, they strive to keep in touch while experiencing the freedom, love, choices and challenging life lessons that mark their individual journeys toward adulthood. Directed by Sanaa Hamri from a screenplay by Elizabeth Chandler, based on the novels by Ann Brashares, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 also stars Rachel Nichols, Rachel Ticotin, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Blythe Danner. It is produced by Debra Martin Chase, Denise Di Novi, Broderick Johnson and Kira Davis; with executive producers Andrew A. Kosove, Christine Sacani, Alison Greenspan, Leslie Morgenstein, and Bob Levy; and co-producers Steven P. Wegner, Yolanda T. Cochran, and Gaylyn Fraiche. Alcon Entertainment presents a Di Novi Pictures / Debra Martin Chase Production, in association with Alloy Entertainment: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. The film will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, on August 6th, 2008. The track-listing for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 Soundtrack is as follows: Rock & Roll -- Eric Hutchinson "Together" -- Michelle Branch "Sunset Man" -- James Otto "No One's Aware" -- Jack Savoretti "Warm Whispers" -- Missy Higgins "Friday Night" -- Craig David "Sister Rosetta (Capture the Spirit)" -- Noisettes "5 Times Out Of 100" -- Hot Hot Heat "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" -- Cyndi Lauper "You Are Mine" -- Mute Math "Strange & Beautiful (I'll Put A Spell On You)" -- Aqualung

MIRRORS (August 5, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack for MIRRORS, available via iTunes and in stores on August 12. The soundtrack contains original music composed by Javier Navarrete (Pans Labyrinth). Spanish composer Javier Navarrete earned his first Academy Award® nomination for Pans Labyrinth, his second collaboration with director Guillermo del Toro. Navarrete began scoring in 1987 and has composed some 30 film scores since making his debut. His credits include 2003s Dot the I, a romantic drama, and 2004s Yo Puta. Though not well known in the United States, Navarrete has been likened to French composer Alexandre Desplat both well regarded in their home countries and both achieving commercial success in the United States with their debut scores. His upcoming projects include Fireflies in the Garden (starring Julia Roberts and Ryan Reynolds) and Inkheart (starring Brendan Fraser, Helen Mirren, and Paul Bettany). The film Haute Tension put French writer/director Alexandre Aja on the horror movie map. It was edited and released in the US as High Tension. That film led to Wes Craven approaching Aja about remaking the film The Hills Have Eyes. The result was a highly successful film in the genre. Initially Aja was approached to remake the 2003 South Korean horror film Into the Mirror. Rather than simply remake the film, Aja and co-writer Gregory Levasseur were inspired to write a new story. A security guard (Kiefer Sutherland) discovers an evil spirit lurking in the mirrors of an abandoned department store. His soon-to-be ex-wife (Paula Patton), a coroner, has a hard time believing her husband's claims. MIRRORS also stars Amy Smart, Jason Flemyng, and Julian Glover. 20th Century Fox and New Regency present MIRRORS in theaters on August 15, 2008. MIRRORS original soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available via iTunes and in stores on August 12.

EUREKA (August 14, 2007- Burbank, CA) The soundtrack from SciFi Channels popular television series, Eureka, will be released by La-La Land Records on August 19, 2008. Composer Bear McCreary, who also scores the hit series Battlestar Galactica and Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles, composes the score for Eureka. Composer Bear McCreary is one of the top young composers working in Hollywood. His work on the television series Battlestar Galactica has been described as offering some of the most innovative music on TV today, by Variety, and his blog www.bearmccreary.com/blog, which features in-depth inside looks at the process of scoring Battlestar Galactica, was called "one of the best blogs in the business. It's a fascinating look at the process of making music for film and television and the care he takes with aligning the score with the twists and turns of each character's plot lines," by The Hollywood Reporter. Bear McCrearys feature film credits include Wrong Turn 2 and the Rest Stop films. He also scores the hit series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for Fox. McCreary was among a handful of select protégés of late film music legend Elmer Bernstein (THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN) and is a classically trained composer with degrees in Composition and Recording Arts from the prestigious USC Thornton School of Music. A car accident leads U.S. Marshal Jack Carter into the top-secret Pacific Northwest town of Eureka
As World War II came to a close with mushroom clouds over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the impact that science and technology would have on the continued security of our world became catastrophically apparent. With the help of Albert Einstein and other trusted advisors, President Harry S. Truman commissioned a top-secret residential development in a remote area of the Pacific Northwest, one that would serve to protect and nurture America's most valuable intellectual resources. There our nation's greatest thinkers, the über-geniuses working on the next era of scientific achievement, would be able to live and work in a supportive environment. Thus, the town of Eureka was born. But for all of its familiar, small-town trappings, things in this secret hamlet are anything but ordinary. The stereotype of the absent-minded professor exists for a reason, and most of the quantum leaps in science and technology during the past 50 years were produced by Eureka's elite researchers. Unfortunately, scientific exploration is rarely what one expects, and years of experiments gone awry have yielded some peculiar by-products. From unrequited love to professional jealousy, from addiction to depression, the problems of Eureka's townsfolk stem from life's myriad of everyday challenges. But with the population's unique talents, troubled psyches and limitless resources, these small-town concerns have a way of becoming big-time problems. It is at that intersection, where human frailty and super-science collide, that Eureka begins
. Eureka is as much a quirky character study as a sci fi show. McCreary reflects that in the score. My approach for the score was to leave the crazy Sci Fi elements alone. I wanted the music to underscore the character relationships, and the small-town setting. As a result, the score has an intimate, warm tone blended with folky-blue-grass riffs. But the town of Eureka is no regular town in middle America. Because this is no ordinary small town, there are, of course, some oddities in the ensemble. McCreary describes, In addition to the woodwinds, strings and guitars, I layered in 80s and 90s synthesizer textures, inspired by the 8-bit and 16-bit video game consoles of my youth. So, the score could best be described as chamber-orchestra meets blue-grass / zydeco meets 80s-new-wave meets Super Mario Brothers... if that makes any sense at all. Besides, it finally gave me an excuse to play lots of accordion, which is my main instrument! The third season of Eureka began airing on Sci Fi on July 29th. The Eureka soundtrack will be available in stores or from www.lalalandrecords.com on August 19, 2008. Also available from La-La Land Records are the soundtracks for Battlestar Galactica Season One, Season Two, Season Three and Wrong Turn 2, also composed by Bear McCreary. La-La Land Records will be releasing the soundtracks for Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Rest Stop 2 later this year.

Determined to be a player in the wider affairs of the world, she proved that she could out-gamble, out-drink, and outwit most of the aristocratic men who surrounded her. But even as her own power and popularity grew, she was haunted by the fact that the only man in England she seemingly could not seduce was her very own husband, the Duke (Fiennes). And when she tried to find her own way to be true to her heart and loyal to her duty, the resulting controversies and convoluted liaisons pushed her to the brink of risking banishment by her husband, family and all of London society. Paramount Vantage presents THE DUCHESS in theaters on September 19, 2008. THE DUCHESS original soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available via iTunes and in stores on September 16.

APPALOOSA (October 6, 2008- Los Angeles, CA) Historically Westerns have produced some of the most memorable music in cinema history. Composer Jeff Beals take on the genre is featured on the Lakeshore Records soundtrack for APPALOOSA, available via iTunes and Amazon Digital on September 16th and in stores on October 28th. In addition to Beals score, the album will feature the track, You'll Never Leave My Heart sung by the films director and co-star Ed Harris. Composer Jeff Beal first worked with director Ed Harris on Harris feature film directorial debut, Pollock. A three-time Emmy Award® winner for the main title of Monk, the original dramatic score of TNTs telefilm Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King, and most recently for The Company, Beal has also been Emmy-nominated five other times, including three nods for the HBO series Rome and one for Carnivale. Beal composed the score for the upcoming film Salomaybe?, directed by Al Pacino. His other film composing credits include the documentary The Pixar Story, Ping Pong Playa, Spirit of the Marathon, and The Passion of Ayn Rand. Steven Schneider (regular contributor to the NY Times) wrote of "...the richness of Beal's musical thinking - the ways in which he conceives of his solos as fully-developed mini compositions, while his compositions often capture the liveliness and unpredictability of the best improvisation." In addition to the score, Beal wrote the music for You'll Never Leave My Heart, which features lyrics by Ed Harris. In describing writing music with Ed Harris, Beal explains, It so fun to hear this voice come out of him - right in character of the lyric as he wrote it, and so musical. He's definitely a natural! We tried to make it feel like a classic cowboy song from the 50's. Also on the soundtrack is the song Aint Nothin Like A Friend performed by Donald Rubinstein, which was co-written by Rubinstein and Harris. Oscar® nominee Viggo Mortensen, four-time Oscar nominee Ed Harris, Academy Award® winner Renée Zellweger, and Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons star in the Western APPALOOSA, adapted from the Robert B. Parker novel. Set in 1882 in the Old West territory of New Mexico, APPALOOSA revolves around city marshal Virgil Cole (Harris) and his deputy and partner Everett Hitch (Mortensen), who have made their reputation as peacekeepers in the lawless towns springing up in the untamed land. In the small mining community of Appaloosa, a ruthless, powerful rancher named Randall Bragg (Irons) has allowed his band of outlaws to run roughshod over the town. After the cold-blooded murder of Appaloosas city marshal, Cole and Hitch are hired to bring the murderer to justice. While establishing new authority with equal parts grits and guns, Cole and Hitch meet provocative newcomer Allison French (Zellweger), whose unconventional ways threaten to undermine their progress and to destroy the two lawmens decade-old partnership. New Line Cinema presents APPALOOSA in theaters on September 19, 2008. APPALOOSA original soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available via iTunes and Amazon Digital on September 16, 2008, and in stores on October 28th.

He recently received the Henry Mancini Lifetime Achievement Award from ASCAP. THE EXPRESS follows the extraordinary life story of Ernie Davis (Rob Brown). His fight for equality and respect forever changed the face of American sports, and his story continues to inspire new generations. Raised in poverty in Pennsylvania coal-mining country, Davis hurdled social and economic obstacles to become one of the greatest running backs in college football history. Under the guidance of legendary Syracuse coach Ben Schwartzwalder (Dennis Quaid), he became a hero who superseded Jim Browns achievements and set records that stand to this day. As the growing civil rights movement divided the country in the 60s, Davis became a symbol for achievement that transcended race. Refusing to flinch from others prejudices, he achieved all his goals until he faced a challenge that would make most men crumble. He joined the ranks of black pioneers by teaching a generation tolerance, inspiring a movement that smashed barriers on and off the field. Universal Pictures presents THE EXPRESS in theaters on October 10, 2008. THE EXPRESS original soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available via iTunes and Amazon Digital on September 30th, and in stores on October 7th.

Rest Stop: Dont Look Back (October 6, 2008- Burbank, CA) The soundtrack for Rest Stop: Dont Look Back will be released by La-La Land Records on October 21, 2008. Composer Bear McCreary, who also scored the first Rest Stop film, composed the score. The soundtrack album also includes five songs penned by McCreary: Rattlesnake on the Highway and Lonely Woman performed by Brendan Bt4 McCreary, who sang All Along the Watchtower on the Battlestar Galactica Season 3 soundtrack, Jesus, He Forgives You Too and Down Home Salvation performed by Rev. Buford Buck Davis and His Minstrel Singers, and All That Remains performed by Raya Yarbrough, a song featured in both Rest Stop films as well as several episodes of Battlestar Galacticas third and fourth seasons. McCreary also scores the hit series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for Fox. His film credits include Wrong Turn 2 and the Rest Stop films. McCreary was among a handful of select protégés of late film music legend Elmer Bernstein (THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN) and is a classically trained composer with degrees in Composition and Recording Arts from the prestigious USC Thornton School of Music. Shawn Papazian, who produced the first Rest Stop film, directed the sequel. This time around, since I was at the helm, I wanted to add a dirtier, grittier flare to the score that was unique but in some way similar to the first Rest Stop, yet take it to another level of funk. Bear brilliantly discovered musically my jumbled rhetoric and brought the soul of the score to life, he describes. We were able to unleash instruments that played beautifully and organically within the beats of horror that I feel will make this movie sound artistic in a way that genre movies of this nature have never sounded like before. He truly scored. One year after running away from home, Nicole (Julie Mond) and Jesse (Joey Mendicino) are still missing. When Jesses brother, Tom (Richard Tillman), returns home from active duty, he sets out with his friends Marilyn (Jessie Ward) and Jared (Graham Norris) to locate the lost couple. Their search leads them to the stretch of old highway with a mysterious Rest Stop, where they find themselves in the same predicament as Nicole and Jesse: confronting the madman (Brionne Davis) driving the menacing yellow truck. As their search continues, a run-in with the ubiquitous Winnebago Family leads Marilyn and Jared to ghostly encounters with Nicole. Meanwhile, Tom is kidnapped and tortured by the psycho, but upon his escape he uses the arsenal at his disposal to take his revenge. But bullets alone may not be enough to stop this sociopath bent on death and dismemberment. So like Nicole and Jesse, Bear McCreary revisited Rest Stop. In that movie, we established a rich and lush sonic soundscape, filled with distorted banjos, wailing electric bass and detuned country fiddle, said McCreary. All these elements returned for Dont Look Back with a vengeance
The sound I was going for was Lynyrd Skynyrd Trapped in Hell. Warner Home Video presents Rest Stop: Dont Look Back available on DVD September 30, 2008. The original soundtrack will be available in stores or from www.lalalandrecords.com on October 21, 2008. Also available from La-La Land Records are the soundtracks for Battlestar Galactica Season One, Season Two, Season Three, Eureka, and Wrong Turn 2, also composed by Bear McCreary. La-La Land Records will be releasing the soundtracks for Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles later this year.

MAX PAYNE (October 6, 2008- Burbank, CA) The soundtrack for Max Payne will be released by La-La Land Records via their website from www.lalalandrecords.com on October 21, 2008 and in stores on November 18th. The album contains original music composed by Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Scream) and Buck Sanders (The Hurt Locker, Mindgame). The film is based on the Rockstar Games legendary, hard-hitting interactive video game. Max Payne tells the story of a maverick cop determined to track down those responsible for the brutal murder of his family and partner. Hell-bent on revenge, his obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmare journey into a dark underworld. As they mystery deepens, Max (Mark Wahlberg), is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal. The film is directed by John Moore and also stars Beau Bridges, Ludacris, Donal Logue, Chris ODonnell, and Mila Kunis as Mona Sax. The music for Max Payne had on objective: to intrigue, described Director John Moore. Beltrami and Sanders wonderfully dark-woven score does just that, it pulls the viewer ever closer to the grisly, macabre dénouement. To do so the composers Beltrami and Sanders took an innovative approach. They describe, The film opens with Max drowning underwater, floating serenely and waiting to embrace death. Its a beautiful but disturbing image. Time to detune the piano! The duo would detune the piano 5 times until they got the sound just right. It transformed the pianos upper registers into a glassy, chime-like instrument and the low end became an unpitchable rumbling. Marco Beltrami is known for his unconventional approach to film scoring. In his approach to scoring Scream, Beltrami threw away conventional horror music clichés. Instead, he likened the film to a western and calling upon the influences of his idol Ennio Morricone, he went on to write one of the most unexpected and imaginative scores in recent memory. After studying at Brown University and the Yale School of Music, composer Marco Beltrami continued his training in Italy under the Italian master Luigi Nono. He then relocated to Los Angeles to undertake a fellowship with Academy Award® winning composer Jerry Goldsmith. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Beltrami was hired to score Scream, the Wes Craven film that would become a successful trilogy. Following Scream, Beltrami went on to write his critically acclaimed score for Mimic. His recent compositions include Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines, Hellboy, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, and 3:10 To Yuma, for which he earned an Academy Award® nomination. Buck Sanders has been Marco Beltramis assistant in 1997. He has worked with Beltrami programming synthesizers and providing additional cues for his scores for the past ten years. He has composed scores for the film documentary CamGirls, the 2005 film Mindgame and the 2008 film The Hurt Locker, directed by Kathryn Bigelow. 20th Century Fox presents Max Payne in theaters on October 17, 2008. The original soundtrack will be available from www.lalalandrecords.com on October 21, 2008 and in stores on November 18th.
